Colorbar came up with this new range of matte lip colours which has a very catchy name! I really like matte lip colours.

So I went to the store to try some on and ended up buying a couple. They are seriously amazing guys! Check the range out below.

Packaging

I really like the new combination transparent and metallic silver packaging. The silver adds a definite class to the product and the transparent part lets us look at the shade as it is inside the tube. The bottom has a sticker with the colour code and name. The product itself comes in a matallic silver coloured cartoon box classic of colorbar. The box has all the details of the product including ingredients, price, expiry date etc. I love how they have really made the packaging super unique and yet so functional.

Applicator

The applicator is really long doe foot applicator. It has this tiny hole in the centre which basically helps us pick just the right amount of product. It is soft and does not really bend on pressure which I actually like since it gives a better control on the application part.

Formula and Texture

The formula of the lip stain is really soft and creamy. Upon application after around 10 seconds it settles down and gives a matte finish on the lips. I basically want to call it a liquid lipstick because of the opaque formula of the lipstick and smooth texture. Upon removal, they do not leave any stain behind on the lips so I am quite confused about why are they really called “lip stains” anyways. They are just really creamy lipsticks which give a soft matte finish on the lips. For those concerned about the transferability, this is one of those lipsticks which does not transfer on my coffee cups at all, which makes it really long lasting ie about 5 to 6 hours without any touch ups. It feels super light on the lips.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation is a total hit with this one. The lip colour goes full opaque in a single swipe. I basically don’t even need to go for a second swipe unless I want to adjust it around the margins of my lips. The rich pigmentation makes it more like a really creamy, long wear, matte lipstick.

Shades

001 Hollywood It’s our classic ruby red colour. This is the red shade which every lady irrespective of age, must have in her collection, colorbar or not.
002 Royal Pink This is a soft cool toned pink shade. Young girls are going to love this!
003 Girlie This is our barbie pink shade. Absolute knock out summer-spring shade.
004 Blush Crush Its a bold pink, kind of like first cousin to fuchsia pink.
005 Palm Beach Its a lovely soft peach shade. This is like the nude shade in this collection with some pink undertones.
006 Mauve Dusk Light berry shade. Beauties who are not very fond of wearing mauve shades are recommended to check this one out.
007 Haute Latte This is not really a brown shade. Its a nude shade with brownish undertones. If overapplied, it does tend to look more brown than it is supposed to be. So ladies, we gotta be careful with the quantities.
008 Rustic Lovely orange toned brick red shade. Such a fun summer shade. Would suit almost all skin types.

MBF Recommendations

These are one of the best creamy lip colours with soft matte finish, almost zero transferability and long staying power. Though we got only 8 shades as of now, I do feel the present 8 shades do cater to a lot of skin tones. The shades would suit mostly all skin tones. They do not dry out the lips however still I would advice you beauties to apply a thin layer of lip balm since it makes the lips look healthier. 900/- appears on the higher side, but I would say they do work amazingly so the damage is basically well tolerated.
