So as we already mentioned, there are a total of 6 shades in this range. All of them are lovely bright summery colours. They come in a very nice black and white print outer carton box with a strip of corresponding colour of the pencil. However these are sharpenable pencils and not twist up ones so you have to have a fitting sharpener with it. You can find fitting sharpeners at all the MAC stores.

Are these Eyeliners or Lipliners?

Well they’re both. MAC artists say that these pencils can be used as lip liners as well as eyeliners. You can play with them both ways. Its really nice since at the end of the day Makeup is art and such colours are really fun specially when they can be used in a number of ways.

Formula, Texture, Pigmentation

The formula is really nice and smooth. Texture being super creamy. In fact these glide on the skin like butter and are very easy to use. This also means that we have to be careful because if we apply too much pressure, the pencil might crumble and break. Pigmentation basically is out of this world. In my swatches below, I have swatched the pink and blue shade literally just once and the rest of the shade twice. Can we really take a moment to appreciate the brilliant pigmentation of these pencils please.

MAC Work It Out Chromagraphic Pencils Individual Shades Description

Landscape Green – is a beautiful pantone green colour. Yes, pantone green is the Colour of the year for 2017 and its really clever that MAC came up with this shade in this collection this year. It applies beautifully and offers full opaqueness in a single swipe.

Rich Purple – exactly as the name suggests, its a beautiful purple colour with slight blue undertones. Extremely pigmented, this shade looks amazing on every single skin tone.

Process Magenta – is a beautiful bright magenta pink. Its one of the most pigmented shades in the range.

Marine Ultra – this is a very rich indigo shade. Again, one of the most pigmented shades in this range. This shade also will look amazing on every skin tone.

Primary Yellow – is a bright lemon yellow shade. This is such a fun shade to play with for artists who like to experiment. Also, this is super creamy and pigmented.

Genuine Orange – Genuine orange is a true orange colour.

Finish, Transferability, Wearability, Staying Power

All these pencil liners have a nice matte finish on the skin. Whether you use them on eyes as eyeliners or on lips as lip liners, bothways you will enjoy them. These liners do transfer if touched when they are not set. However once they set, they do not transfer much. They wear comfortably and staying power varies depending on the type of skin. On oily skin, they won’t last as long as they would last on other skin types. Hence on an average they last for around 6 to 7 hours after which they start fading.

Overall Verdict

This collection is all about vivid and vibrant colours. You can play with these however you want. Experiment and be creative because all these colours are sure to bring out the best in every artist. :0
