In Detail Anatomicals Look You’ve Got Chocolate All Over Your Face Anti-Stress Face Mask Review, Swatches and My Experience
Anatomicals chocolate face mask comes in this brown chocolate coloured sachet. Love the packaging! The back of this sachet has all the necessary product details like usage directions, ingredients etc. The sachet might look small but to be honest, this has enough product for 2 uses. I used this one sachet twice for my whole face and neck. I basically use it one time and then roll the top and secure a paper clip. This way the product left inside stays secure until I use it the next time. Please make sure to use the remaining amount within 2 to 3 days.
This mask smells absolutely delicious. It smells like super fresh cocoa. I just want to gulp it as soon as I open the sachet. I mean, if you love chocolates, you will definitely love the smell. The smell tones down a little bit while this is on, but never goes down to zero. It has a moderate to thick consistency, still creamy. Therefore it is very easy to apply on the skin and does not drip down from the face. It is peachy pink in colour. I really wish it looked like chocolate as well 😀
If you take a look at the ingredients list, you will notice an ingredient called “Butrospermum Parkii” which is actually Shea Butter. Hence, although this is a Kaolin clay based mask, you know this isn’t going to dry out your skin much.
How I Use it
I apply an even layer of the mask on my freshly cleansed skin. I use my fingers to apply it, you can use a mask brush if you want. But I am kind of more comfortable with my fingers for some reason. Then I let the mask chill out on my skin while I drown myself in the delicious chocolate fragrance. Basically this is the “anti stress” part. The indulgent chocolate fragrance just makes me so happy. This mask dries on my face after around 20 minutes. Then, I wash it off with normal temperature water.
After I wash off this mask, my skin does not feel dry at all although this is a clay based mask. Like I mentioned above, it has shea butter which helps moisturise the skin at the same time. My skin felt cleansed and relaxed. However, there was no added glow as Anatomicals claims. It gave me those 20 minutes of absolute chocolate indulgence and I loved every second of it.
I really love this mask for its chocolate fragrance. This rich and pleasant chocolate fragrance is the very thing which gives me the “anti stress” experience when I have it on my face. Apart from that I really like the fact that it relaxes my skin and does not make it even a little bit dry. However, on the downside, this does not give my skin any extra glow or brightening effect. There was no long term benefits either. Hence, I would say this is a good mask for small pampering sessions or for a little relaxing “me time”. Because it smells like these amazing pure chocolates, I would surely suggest my chocolate lovers to give this a try.
