Ingredients of ColourPop Empire Super Shock Eye Shadow

How to Use Colourpop Super Shock Eye Shadow

For maximum coverage use the fingertip to tap shadow on the eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. Using a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip the tip of the brush into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow appear soft and diffused like a total pro! When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.

In Detail ColourPop Empire Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches and My Experience

Colourpop eyeshadows come in this cute little tub packaging. The actual shadow pan inside it can be popped out. However its not advised since the formula of Colourpop shadows is such that it tends to dry out if left uncovered. I am happy with the packaging but wish they came out with palettes.

ColourPop describes Empire as “fiercely rich emerald green”. The actual green pigment here is a lovely emerald green with warm undertones. It has these sparse cooler toned silver-green glitters throughout. It gives more like a glittery-metallic look.

The formula feels like a hybrid between mousse and a pressed pigment. I love how the colourpop shadows apply super smoothly. This one gives a 70% coverage in single swipe. Complete opaqueness can be built up very easily since the formula is very pigmented. Although this has glitter, there was absolutely no fall out.

Empire for me is one of the most beautiful and must have green in anyone’s collection. I want to compare this shade to the green in the Morphe kathleen lights palette because they look really similar.

Even without a primer the colour lasts on my lids for around 7-8 hours. With a good eye primer, the shade lasts on me for more than 10 hours without fading or creasing. I am honestly super impressed with the quality of the shadow here.

My advise to you is, if you are looking for a versatile green shade that can be pretty much pulled off in all seasons, look no further! Empire looks good on all skin tones and can be used to create a variety of makeup looks. You can wear it all over the lids and you will be good to go. It has a metallic finish with elements of soft glitter. I adore the way this makes my eye makeup pop. I have done a look below using this eyeshadow.

MBF Advises

1. Try to use an eye primer to get true pigmentation of eyeshadows as well as make them last much longer.
2. For eyeshadows which have glitter in it, try to pat the pigment on the lids rather than strokig it on with the brush.
3. Always be careful while using glittery or shimmery shades on the eyelids.
4. Remove all the makeup properly and thoroughly before going to bed.
