1st Step – Start with freshly exfoliated lips! Prime your lips with our Lippie Primer for smoother application and more comfortable wear!

2nd Step – Line your lips with a matching Lippie Pencil; this will help you achieve the perfect finished look and give the appearance of fuller lips.

3rd Step – Apply your Lippie Stix and you’re good to go!

TIPS – If desired, you can apply your favorite Ultra Glossy Lip on top of your Lippie Stix for more oomph!

In Detail ColourPop Staycation Matte Lippie Stix Kit Review, Swatches and My Experience

The packaging of the ColourPop staycation set is very unique and amazing. It is this sturdy hard cardboard box with a magnetic closure. There is a mirror inside the box as well! I love the purple polygonal graphic design and metallic golden labelling on top. I mean, what more can you ask for? Perfect packaging I have to say. Really impressed.

Each lippie stix individually costs $ 5.00. This set has 6 lippie stix in full size. Plus of course the cute box which you can use to store so many more things. The value of the entire set is definitely above $ 30.00 + the box. However, we get it for $ 25.00 only. Also, you can get this set for only $ 20.00 during colourpop sale. A total value for money isn’t it?

When I bring the lippie stix close to my nose, I can smell some sweet vanilla fragrance. Quite similar to MAC lipsticks but not exactly the same. The smell is not too srong, but still noticeable. Since I love vanilla fragrances, I kind of enjoy it.

Formula, Texture, Pigmentation

The formula of these lippie stix is very consistent across every shade. Its very smooth and applies effortlessly. The texture is really nice and soft creamy. All the lippie stix are decently pigmented. They offer 90% opaque coverage in a single swipe. Very easily buildable, they go full coverage in just 2 swipes. These lippie stix are never patchy on the lips. They look very even and do not accentuate fine lines at all.

Lippie Stix Shades in ColourPop Staycation Set

ColourPop Cookie – Colourpop defines this as warm brown nude. This shade is almost similar to my skin tone and does not show up well on me. This will be a very good nude lipstick for those with lighter or paler complexions. Its a close dupe of MAC Pure Zen.

ColourPop Brink – Colourpop describes it as terracota rose. Its a beautiful warm rosy mauve which will be a great MLBB shade for ladies with my skin tone. This shade will look super amazing with a deep smoky eyes makeup look. I have been wearing this more often as MLBB shade that the rest of my lipsticks.

Colourpop Grunge – Colourpop says its a mid toned red brown. It is a warm toned soft brown shade which is not too intense. This is a beautiful brown if you want to try out a brown lipstick. It is extremely similar to MAC Strip Me Down (LE)

Colourpop LBB – Colourpop defines it as a rich plum wine shade and I cannot agree more. Its a very rich wine shade with plum tones. This is a lovely shade to try out if you love deep wine shades. Its a very close dupe for MAC Heaux.

Colourpop I Heart This – Colourpop says this is a red fuchsia. This is a soft fuchsia pink shade with red undertones. Its intensity is very buildable to a deep fuchsia shade. A beautiful summer shade I feel.

Colourpop Bossy – Colourpop describes it as classic blue red. This shade is exactly that. An intense red shade with blue tones. This is my total favourite. You guys know how I feel about my reds and this is one of my besties. Its an exact dupe of MAC Red lipstick.

Finish, Wearability, Transferability, Staying Power

All these lippie stix have a lovely matte finish. Not powdery matte, but a rather comfortable matte finish. I absolutely have been loving wearing them lately. They wear comfortably and do not turn patchy during their wear time. Deeper shades transfer slightly more than the lighter shades. However the lipstick does not loose its intensity on the lips. They stay for an average of 6 hours on me before showing signs of fading. I love the face that they do not fade unevenly.

How to Remove Colourpop Lippie Stix

Normal micellar waters do not work effectively on removing the lipstick. However a normal drugstore makeup remover is able to properly take out all the pigment from the lips. Deeper shades do leave a slight stain, but that can be comfortably taken off by going over another time with a makeup remover.

Overall Verdict

I am absolutely in love with this lippie stix set. Although I do not wear the shade “Cookie” on its own, I have used it to tone down certain deep lipsticks. Such shades can also be used under normal lipsticks to conceal lip pigmentation. This kit from colourpop is a total value for money and I highly recommend it. There are a variety of shades and these shades are such that can be carried by every skin tone. Most of these lippie stix are extremely close dupes of some very high end lipsticks.
