In Detail Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée Heat Wave Review, Swatches and My Experience

So starting of with the packaging, it comes in a very nice cardboard box packaging which is quite attractive. When you open it, you see a lovely silver compact kind of a case which is actually a highlighter. I love-love the packaging. The packaging is very luxurious and eye catching. Of course it was eye catching because that was the reason I bought it. I love the fact that it has its own in built mirror hence it’s more travel friendly. Also, it is easy to carry. I wish they would have provided a brush applicator as well. Ok so lastly on to the packaging the lid of this product is tight. It opens and shuts with a click, hence it’s easy and safe to carry.

Coming on to the shades as this is a limited edition product there is no as such more options in shades. So I take this as a biggest downside of the product.

Does it Work?

Starting of with the the review I bought the Estée Lauder bronze goddess illuminating powder gelee heatwave 001 just because of its luxurious and royal packaging. The moment I saw the product I was drooling and goto blown away completely. It was so nicely packed, omg I have no words here. However, I didn’t find anything attractive about the highlighter in terms of its shade. I did go to the store and apply this highlighter but it looked as if I did not apply anything on my skin. I was wondering how come :/ but the SA present in the store told me that it’s more of a subtle glow highlighter and if you apply with wet brush, it will give you more glow. Somehow I was not convinced with her talk but I ended up buying just because of its royal packaging as mentioned earlier.

The shade of this highlighter is pretty much same as the other drugstore highlighters. It’s just a basic bronzy – gold shade. I almost find it quite similar to the faces Ultime pro illuminating highlighter. The faces highlighter is a close dupe of this one.

Overall Verdict

This highlighter will suit beauties with fair to medium skin tones. Beauties deeper than my skin tone will not enjoy it as a highlighter. Although I am a person with dusky complexion, I still don’t like the subtle look of this highlighter.

The texture of this highlighter is very soft and smooth which I like and it’s easy to blend as well. However, I don’t know somehow it feels a bit chalky when I apply it on my skin.
The pigmentation of this is worst. I know – I know you must be wondering what am I saying but don’t go on pictures guys this may look very pigmented in the pictures but it’s actually not. I need to layer the highlighter a couple of times just in order to let it show up on my skin. Well I am a person who likes to glow. Glow as in good and extremely popping kind of glow! But this one somehow doesn’t work for me.

Lastly it stays on my skin for good 3-4 hours after that it starts fading.

MBF Advises

1) Prime your skin well to help ur makeup stay in place.
2) Use a liquid highlighter and then use this highlighter on top of it so that it gives you more noticeable glow.
3) Use your fingers to apply this highlighter instead of brush. Because, with brush you won’t get that intense look.
