In Detail Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick Poppy Red 411 Review, Swatches and Price
The lipstick comes in a plastic package with black colour on the cap, base and shell. There is a silver coloured band at the junction of base and shell which has “faces” written over it with black. The cap does tend to rotate in its place with slightest pressure but does not come off. Though a not very expensive packaging, its simple and user friendly.
Texture and Formula
The texture is quite smooth and even. Not really super soft. It doesn’t have any shimmers which gives it the smooth texture. It’s got various oils such as castor oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, vitamin E in addition to white soft paraffin. Initially I was worried that the lipstick would melt easily because of so many oil ingredients however, to my surprise it does not melt easily. In fact this is one of those lipsticks which I have kept in my bag for a long time without any damage. The basic formula of the lipstick is pretty moisturising I would say. Even without a lip balm underneath, it gives a pretty healthy look. Speaking of finish, it does not look very creamy on the lips neither matte. It stands somewhere in between creamy and matte. On the lips, it gives a sort of satin finish.
Faces Canada Go Chic Lipstick Poppy Red 411 shade and pigmentation
It is a orange based brick red shade. It is a red with a bit of summery fun orange hue. In a single swipe, it gives a moderate opaqueness. With the second swipe, the colour intensity comes out to be 98% opaque and looks really pretty. I prefer filling out the outer margins of the lips first and then build the desired intensity with the colour.
It stays on me for a good 4 to 5 hours without heavy meals. It does transfer a bit so with heavy meals, it would wear out faster. It has a faint vanilla fragrance which is noticeable in the begining only and fades away in an hour at max. While fading, sometimes when my lips are a little dry, I do notice slight patchiness on the lips. Does leave a faint stain behind but it comes off well with a regular makeup remover.
Faces Go Chic lipsticks are great choice for beauties looking for budget friendly lipstick with decent qualities. They do not have any major flaws in them. These have a decent pigmentation and fair staying time. Though the ingredient list of this lipstick is oil based which means it is a moisturising lipstick, I would still advice application of a little lip balm underneath specially for the beauties who tend to have dry lips often. This would avoid the patchiness when the lipstick is fading.
