In Detail Faces I Shine Eye Shadow Quartet Purple Review, Swatches and My Experience

The faces I shine quartet comes in an outer black cardboard packaging. Sorry guys I don’t have the outer packaging to show you. When you open it, there is a compact case inside which is this eyeshadow palette. Basically the packaging of this eyeshadow quartet is decent. They have provided a mini sponge applicator which I find kind of useless. What I don’t like is they haven’t provided a mirror inside. The lid of the palette shuts and opens with a click so yay over here. The packaging is overall light weight but as they haven’t provided a good applicator and mirror, it makes the packaging less travel friendly.

Now coming on to the shades they have about 4 shades in this range. That is pink, purple, green and blue. Well I have two shades in this range that is purple and green. I wish to buy blue as well. Let me know if you want a review on these shades as well. Will love to do it for you all. I didn’t pick up the pink one as I am not a big fan of pink eyeshadows.

Now coming to the review of the faces I shine eyeshadow purple. They have four different purples in this palette. All the four are slightly different hues of purple. First 3 have a more metallic finish and the last one (4) is more glittery. It is a shimmery palette. All the shades in this palette are shimmery. They don’t have even one matte shade in this palette which I dislike. I like to use all the colours on my eyelid as all of them go well with each other. However, for outer corners or blending in the crease I like to use a matte brown shade from a different palette.

Individual Shade Description (from top to bottom)

1. A lavender toned purple with a metallic sheen.
2. It’s a lilac purple shade with a metallic finish.
3. A darkened aubergine purple with purple metallic finish.
4. A bright glittery purple pigment.

The third shade from the top of this palette is my favourite shade among all 4. Reaching out for that shade more often than the others. I love to create purple smokey eyes look with this palette. Very often, I use my fingers when I apply the eyeshadow on my eyelids as I feel brush and sponge applicators do not give me that intense color payoff on my eyelid.

The pigmentation of this palette is to die for. All the four shades are very well pigmented. In one swipe you get good amount of color on your eyelids. I seriously love the pigmentation of the eyeshadows in this palette.

The texture of the pigments is very very soft and buttery. It just glides on the eyelids very well and smoothly. There is no major fallouts of the pigments. Coming on to the staying power, the faces eyeshadow I shine eye quartet stays on my eyelids until I remove it with a makeup remover. Basically after 6-7 hours I do find that the colour fades a bit but the eyeshadow stays on long even without an eye primer underneath.

2) Less quantity provided for the price.

MBF Advises

1) Firstly, use an eye primer underneath the eyeshadow to help your makeup stay longer.
2) Secondly, after using the eye primer use a concealer on top of it to cancel out any unevenness on the eyelids.
3) Then after you are done with applying the primer and concealer, use a loose powder or a compact powder to set that area well in order to avoid creasing
4) Finally, apply the eyeshadow on top of it to achieve a flawless eye makeup look.

MBF Rating

5/5

(although it has some cons but I still love this eye quartet )

  1. I have this palette Pooja and I completely agree. Such lovely 3 metallic shades and the most amazing purple glittery shade ie the 4th one. I am planning to wear this with a traditional look soon since I have a lovely purple western saree dress. 🙂
