Lets start with Description by the Company

Ubtans, made from finely ground herb, flower and root powders which are sundried and ground by hand, are used as cleansing scrubs or as face packs for deeper exfoliation. My Opinion

I did purchase all their Facial Ubtans and this is one of the first few things I have started using. I have used it around 7- 8 times now. I have combination skin. I am oily around my T zone and mostly nose areas, and some dryness in the rest of the areas.

The packaging I would say is classic. I mean I really like it. This is their new packaging. Nice exterior box which has all the descriptions clearly. Inside you have this tiny plastic jar with golden screw cap. Its more or less compact and should be easy to carry when you are going to travel etc. There is an interior lid for added protection. Now, when you open it, you got to be careful because the product is filled up right upto the brim. It has this fine powder contents and they are packed upto the brim.

When you open it, it immidiately fills the space around you with the most beautiful smell of fresh flowers and herbs. It’s like a basket full of roses and jasmine.

It says that you can mix it with rose water, milk or yogurt. I have tried it with all the three and I feel it gives the best results with fresh yogurt. For those of you who do not like the smell of yogurt, you don’t need to worry. Because when you mix it with the ubtan, it takes the smell of the ubtan which is beautiful.

As shown in the picture, that is the amount that I take per usage. Thats all. So, I must say, you won’t regret the cost, it does last a pretty long time. I guess if used 2-3 times a day, this would last you more than 4-5 months.

I apply this on the face and neck and leave it on and let it dry. I does dry in around 15 minutes. After that, I dab some luke warm water on my face and in gentle motions with the fingers, I scrub my face with it.

It makes the skin really really clean. Not a trace of oil etc left on the skin. It does give an immediate brightening effect on the skin. To some extent it did remove tan from the skin but its not very extraordinary. It does make the skin very soft though!

Now, this does sting a little bit on the skin, it is more like a tingling sensation. But don’t worry, it’s nothing that it shouldn’t do. It is normal and just be assured that it’s working.

It also makes my skin feel a little bit dry after washing. More so if I am using rose water to mix it. So, it is necessary for me to apply a moisturiser. If you do not feel you need a moisturiser, I would still suggest you to use a serum or gel. Because moisturising the skin is extremely necessary.

I would say, if you have oily skin, use it with rosewater. Dry skin beauties use it with milk and yogurt is always good for any skin type. Combination skin beauties can chose or try different ways to see what works best like I did.

Summing up,

Pros

1. Very thoughtful packaging, and the golden lid makes it attractive indeed, just gives you the luxurious feel. After all the brand punch line is “Luxurious ayurveda”
2. You get a lot of product for the price you pay, so this 50g is gonna last for a long time as you need a little bit of product every time.
3. Easy to mix.
4. Gives a brightening effect to the face and gets rid of tan to some extent naturally.Makes your skin soft and glowy.
5. Smells super amazing.
6. Made of everything natural
7. Use it as a face pack and then scrub your face with it, there 2 in 1 !
8. Works good as a cleanser too
9. Very detailed description etc on the packaging itself including expiry dates and even what the ingredients’ botanical names, I have to give them credits for that.
10. Can be used by all the skin types.

Cons

1. Not easily available
2. May be a little bit costly if there are some people who might just wanna try it out first, as they don’t have their stores in a lot of cities and so basically mostly people have to buy it online or third parties.
