In Detail Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 50 PA Review and My Experience

I have noticed that sunscreens that are gel-based may not cause pimples – but they are hardly good in performance. While cream-based sunscreens may keep the sun damage away, but they lead to a lot of breakouts! Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense seems to have found the right balance, offering a cream-based sunscreen that is long-lasting and yet remained lightweight in feel. It is an amazing sun-block with a very high value of SPF 50 PA+++. Now I did not know about what this meant. So, I found out that higher the amount of SPF in your sunscreen means it saves your skin from damage for a longer period of time. Here PA is a ranking given to sunscreens. It has three stages PA+, PA++ and PA+++. Higher the grades better the protection. I read that this can prevent 90% of the skin ageing. It is Paraben free and fragrance free. It does not have that chemical scent that usually comes from sunscreens.

The sunscreen doesn’t feel thick, and it blends out to a finish that’s not shiny or oily, and doesn’t leave behind a white cast. The finish is a nearly matte one with a hint of glowy radiance (which I was told by the salespeople at the Kiehl’s store is because of the light reflecting qualities of the physical sunblock ingredients). There’s no sticky nor greasy after-feel, and the skin feels pleasantly refreshed (without that feeling of being weighed down or clogged up).

I suppose these are the reasons why it is listed as the Top 3 Customers’ Favorites among Kiehl’s entire range of products.

How I Use it

I apply it all over my face and neck 30 minutes before going out in the sun. I even wear it under make-up.

Effects

This is by far the best sun-block I’ve used. Its lightweight, no perfume, and sinks in the skin almost immediately. Most of the sunscreens I have tried either used to cast a white film all over my face or were too oily. Thus I stopped buying sunscreens. But this is like a manna sent from heaven. It gets absorbed nicely; skin doesn’t feel greasy at all. More than anything else, this oil-free product doesn’t clog pores or contribute to pimple issues. It acts as a nice makeup base too. It has very effective active ingredients that protect skin from sun’s damage. It is very moisturizing on its own. Overall, sunscreens are an extra step but totally worth the effort. Over the period of time skin would show results. I believe this product is awesome for those who can afford it. It is really the best sun screen I have ever used!
