In Detail Lacto Calamine Hydration Lotion with Kaolin and Aloe Vera for Dry to Normal Skin Review

The product comes in a plastic white coloured opaque bottle with an elongated screw cap. This particular variety called “Hydration” is meant for Dry to Normal skin and has a light green coloured cap. The bottle has a spill proof and travel safe design. It does come in 3 different sizes as per individual convenience.

I personally have combination skin which does get quite acne prone from time to time. I always have to be very careful with the products I choose for my face since obviously no one likes to break out. However, sometimes my skin does start being sensitive and breaks out. In such times, the first thing that comes to my mind is Lacto Calamine lotion.

Its a pink-peach coloured lotion with a lotion like consistency (a bit on the thicker side). It has a faint smell which I relate to the Kaolin Clay. Some ladies do have a problem with its smell however I do not mind it at all. The smell hardly lingers around for a couple of minutes.

How I Use it?

I take approximately a dime sized amount and apply it on my cleansed skin. I would not say it sinks in easily into the skin since I have to massage it for a while before it gets absorbed. The best part is, it does not make my skin look oily or greasy at all. My skin feels moisturised and has a matte look.

Effects

It keeps my skin moisturised for around 3 to 4 hours after which I feel the need to reapply it. Now coming to its most amazing property, it soothes my skin like no other. Whenever my skin feels itchy or otherwise sensitive due to any reason, this is the product I reach for. It calms down the skin and also reduces redness. Apart from this, whenever I get small breakouts on my skin, this product does a totally wonderful job at reducing the breakouts and preventing new ones to surface. In those days, I like to apply Lacto Calamine lotion at night since it helps with the sensitivity and makes my skin soft.

For me, this is an absolutely essential product for my vanity. Although I have combination skin, I am using the hydration variety due to the drying winters, since I guess this provides a little bit more moisturisation as needed in this weather.

    Lovely review! 🙂

Don’t worry about SPF. Zinc oxide (present in this lotion) is a broad spectrum UVA/UVB reflector and is a common ingredient in various sunscreens and sunblocks.
