Melon and Almond are the lighter shades. Melon is meant for the beauties with reddish skin undertones and Almond for beauties with neutral skin undertones. Apricot is the darker shade and will suit beauties with strong warm yellow undertones.

How to Use

Step 1: Take a powder puff and dab it gently into the compact. Shake the puff to remove any excess powder.
Step 2: Wipe your face with the compact puff in long, even strokes. The strokes should move from the inside, to the outside.
Step 3: Make sure you apply the compact evenly all over your neck as well as the entire area beneath the neck that is visible.
Step 4: Using a facial tissue, lightly wipe your face. This is mainly done to make sure that you do not have excess powder over your face.

Compact powders are such a must have for all the beauties with oily-combination skin. They are super useful as makeup setting powder. On the days when I don’t feel like using any foundation, I’d just apply my compact and I am good to go.

The Lakme 9 to 5 Flawless Matte Complexion Compact comes in a gorgeous rose gold packaging with a mirror finish on the outside. They have mentioned the shade number and a certain other details on the bottom of it however the ingredient list is sure missing. I am in the shade Almond. In the ingredients, it says “Zinc stearate”, now I saw many people getting confused. They thought Zinc is a sun protecting agent. However let me end the controversy here by saying that “Zinc Oxide” provides protection from sun by forming a natural barrier however the “Zinc stearate” is just an ingredient which improves the texture of the product. So “Zinc itself does not provide any sun protection.

It has a slightly rose like flowery fragrance to it. The texture of the compact is amazing. It has this super fine milled, silky and soft texture that makes it so easy to apply. The best thing about this compact is the way it blends. This is the best compact if you are looking for a super blendable one. I wear it usually with my powder brush, so never really used the powder puff which came with it. However I have to say that such powder puffs come in really handy if you are travelling and don’t have a powder brush with you.

This just gives a really smooth and matte finish on my skin. I have been wearing this almost everyday these days and it keeps my skin oil free for a good ~ 4 hours which I think is superb. After 4-5 hours I definitely need a touch up so I always carry it in my bag. I love using this as a setting powder and it does a wonderful job. My makeup doesn’t look cakey or patchy and looks evenly blended. I wouldn’t say that it gives any coverage as such unless you apply it heavily.

Its a wonderful compact by Lakme 9 to 5 for oily/combination skin beauties. Not saying that dry skin beauties can’t use it but they can use it as a mattifying powder. The summers for me are the season when I use up most of my compact powders and I feel really happy to be using this one. The 3 shades available Melon, Apricot and Almond would match mostly all skin tones. Because its super duper blendable (as you can see in the pictures below), you never have to worry about it looking patchy or anything.

1. I highly recommend this to all the ladies but make sure you wear proper sunscreen.
2. Always brush off extra powder from face to achieve a sculpted look.
3. Its very important to blend the compact well otherwise it can end up looking patchy.
4. Never forget to powder you neck because we want an even looking makeup.
