L’Oreal Paris True Match BB Cream Review, Swatches: Hey there lovely ladies! Winter is the only time that I allow a little experimenting with foundations and makeup lotions – because I have weird skin. Oily one day and dry another. Since I had been hearing so much about L’Oreal’s BB Cream, I decided to change my foundation-virginity and try this one out. Afterall, it is L’Oreal….So is it an aye or a nay? Read on to find out..
About L’Oreal Paris True Match BB Cream
L’Oreal claims that this is a ‘skin idealizing cream’. So it is supposed to perfect and smoothes the skin from within because of its anti ageing actives. The vitamins contained therein are claimed to give skin clarity and neutralize spots instantly.
This is what the brochure I got along with the TrueMatch BB Cream said: “The 1st BB Cream with 360° skin care for to idealize a natural flawless skin tone and texture, inside out. A BB Skin Care Revolution: Skin’s Smoothness is retexturized, brightness retoned, and perfected from within. Retexturize: Adenosine, dermatologically known anti-ageing active to smooth skin texture.
Retone: Vitamin CG evens skin clarity. Brown spots and yellowish skin tone instantly appears to be neutralized.
Protect: SPF 35+++ shields skin against environmental assault.”
Benefits of L’Oreal True Match BB Cream
Loreal true Match BB cream comes in three shades – Ivory, Honey and Gold to choose from. I chose Gold. I also realised that at 35, the cream contains the highest SPF among most other BB or CC creams available in the Indian Market. True Match BB cream is a smooth milky emulsion with a touch of tint for natural coverage and a luminous satin finish. Because it blends easily, I feel it can be easily substituted for a daily sun lotion. Skin tone is perfected with pores, imperfections covered. So the L’Oreal TrueMatch BB Cream provides moisturization as well as coverage that lasts all day long.

In Detail L’Oreal Paris True Match BB Cream Review, Swatches and My Experience
Like I said, I am rather averse to the idea of foundations because I have really weird combination skin and feel foundation makes my face look patchy. A lot of my friends use them, but I have only started experimenting with BB and CC creams. Some BB creams give a sheer coverage while some actually hide spots and marks, some give matte finish others make the skin oily. So it was with a fair bit of apprehension that I picked u the L’Oreal TrueMatch BB Cream. I must say, it performed rather well.
Packed in a sturdy tube with a golden cap, the box and the tube containing it answers to almost all queries related to the product. The design is leak-proof and the tube itself is not bulky or heacy – making it easy to carry around without worrying about leakage. The nozzle controls the amount of cream oozing out. With this product, less is definitely more and a very little amount – less than pea size is more than enough for the face and neck.
There are only three shades, and even just one shade lighter cream can give whitish cast, so do take care to select the shade carefully. As I dabbed it on and smoothed it super quickly (because if it begins to dry, it gets difficult to blend), age spots and blemishes were partially covered (say about 80%) and my skin looked comparatively even. In fact the skin tone looked markedly glowing and healthy. It is a non-greasy product that gets absorbed easily. It stayed put without fading much for close to six hours – and this is without using compact! Unlike foundations that scare me because they do make the skin look ‘made up’, the L’Oreal TrueMatch BB Cream sits very lightly on the skin and if you are quick to blend it into the skin, it actually imparts a glow to the skin.
How I Use it
Because I have dry and growing mature skin, I sometimes mix it with a really tiny drop of facial oil (if using in the evenings) or a moisturizer (if I use the product during the day). Simply mix half the size of the dollop of the cream with oil/ moisturizer and apply in dots on the cheek bones, center of the forehead or the chin – blend thoroughly. The other advantage of mixing in a wee bit of moisturizer is that it doesn’t look obvious that you have used a BB cream.
Effects of L’Oreal TrueMatch BB Cream
The best part of Loreal True Match BB Cream is its SPF (sun protection formula) 35 – that is much higher than what other BB creams posses. I do not have to use extra sunscreen plus the hydration it provides is good enough for normal and combination skin. The sheer to medium coverage, semi matte finish and of course, the staying power are definite pluses of the Loreal True Match BB Cream.
However the only downside is that it is not meant for those who want a matte look with a BB cream and also the hydration it provides is not adequate for dry and mature skin. I have to wear my moisturizer or a bit of facial oil beneath this. The faint metallic sheen of the L’Oreal TrueMatch BB Cream gives a natural and healthy glow to the face – as long as you use only a little bit of the product.
The staying power is pretty decent. Mixing it with foundation gives the skin a soft and subtle sheen. Do remember to use very little of the product – you can build up the product easily. Because using too much of the product makes you look like you have a sunburn or worse, like you’ve put on really bad makeup! Too much of the product also makes the pores appear larger. The sheen is not chunky or visibly glittery, but more film-like. The lotion is hydrating but not greasy. I think it is definitely worth a try!
