In Detail Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience
This was my first contour palette. In fact I learnt contouring with this palette only. I have been using it for over 6 months now, and I feel I just never reviewed this. So today finally I am reviewing my most used contour palette.
The packaging is very similar to its famous Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette. There are 8 shades in this, 3 highlight, 3 contour shades, 1 illuminizer and one bronzer. The pan size is big and there are no names for the shades. The palette comes with a big mirror which is useful. The palette is made of fragile plastic so care has to be taken while handling it. Its sleek body makes it very travel friendly.
Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Individual Shades Description
The shades are without names, so here goes my shade description:
The first shade is light beige with pink undertones.
Second shade is a banana yellow. This is the most appropriate highlighting shade for Indian skin tone from the palette.
Third shade is shimmery light beige. I use this mostly as an illuminator since this is not pigmented.
The fourth and last shade in first row is a luminizer with silver glitter. The 3rd and 4th shades are almost similar except that 4th is even more illuminated. I have used it only a couple of times. It gives a good shine and also the finish is smooth and blends easily.
The second row has 3 contour shades ranging from light to dark and a bronzer.
The first shade is a chocolate brown.
The second shade is a mud brown.
The third shade is very similar to the first shade. Actually I haven’t been able to tell the difference till now.
The last shade is a baked bronzer in beige-brown. It goes shimmery beige on application and isn’t well pigmented for a bronzer. I haven’t been able to use it till now.
All the shades are very smooth except the white luminizer shade which is more powdery. The shades are easily blendable and buildable to a great extent.
The staying power is different for all. The lighter shades stay for about 4-5 hours while the darker one stays more for about 7 hours. The lighter shades fade more quickly compared to the darker shades. I don’t sweat a lot on my face, so if you have oily skin, the stay time will reduce a lot. But for oily skin, this is a very good option compared to cream contour kit. And for dry skin like mine, it can be used to set the cream contour.
This palette is possibly a dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit in light medium. I have not used ABH palette so can’t compare the quality. But overall this palette is good for the price it comes.

Will I buy Again?
I might not sure though. I purchased this to learn and practice contouring. Though this is more affordable option but pertaining to my profession, I would like to use higher end brands.
- Practice a lot if you are new to contouring as even slightest mistake can give an improper shape to your face.
- Use a primer and a setting spray to increase staying power to certain extent.
