How to use

1. Use one shade darker than your skin tone to create ‘shadow’ in the hollows of the cheekbones, temples and hairline.

2. Next, run the darkest shade along the jawline and blend to avoid harsh line.

In Detail Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience

Well, I am very new to contouring. In fact, I started trying it just a couple of months back with powder contour kit from makeup revolution. I really loved the way it shaped my face and made me look prettier. Once I realised that I am good with powder contour kit, I wanted to take my contouring to next level. Therefore, I ordered this – Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Kit.

The packaging is a sleek black foldable plastic palette with a big size mirror. The palette contains 8 big round pans. There are 3 highlight shades, 4 contour shades and a silver highlighter. The shades have no names.

Individual Shade Descriptions

1st Row

The first shade is light beige. It can be used for light highlighting but I prefer using the second shade.

Second shade, which is a light banana yellow. It can be used to highlight under eye and the other high points of face. This is the most appropriate shade for Indian skin tone from the palette.

Third shade is deeper beige. It is one shade lighter than my foundation and almost unused for me. I am planning on trying it as a concealer and see if it works.

The fourth and last shade in first row is a luminizer with silver glitter. I have used it only a couple of times. It gives a good shine and also the finish is smooth and blends easily.

2nd Row

The second row has 4 contour shades ranging from light to dark. I am sure everyone will find their true contour shade here.

The first shade is a deep brown.

The second shade is a pale brown.

The third shade is slightly lighter than the first shade but with yellow undertones.

The last shade is same as my foundation shade and I have not used it till now.

As you can see from the pictures of my palette, I have used first contour shade and banana yellow the most. All the shades are of similar consistency. They are very creamy but not oily. They blend in very smoothly. The cream based formulation makes it easier to apply with fingers as well. The product stays up to 5 hours without being set with powder. After setting with powder it stays for a good 8 hours. I feel it’s amazing for a palette this cheap. The shades are buildable to a great extend. This makes it suitable for doing soft contouring for daily makeup routine as well as deep contouring for photo shoots.

Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

I bought this solely for the purpose of practice. Hence, by the time this palette finishes, I will be good at contouring to try better brands. But according to me for beginners, this is a perfect highlight and contouring palette.
