Today we are talking about this lovely eye shadow palette by Maybelline New York called the Eyestudio Diamond glow in the shade 01 Copper Brown. This caught my attention because I love some metallic make up looks and because these diamond glow quads are known for their metallic sheen, I thought I would give this a try.

Expert Tip

Apply A on your entire eye lid and inner corner with the bigger sponge.
Blend B on your medium lid with the opposite side of the bigger sponge.
Blend C on lower medium lid with the smaller sponge.
Use D with the opposite side of the smaller sponge to line the lash line.

SUBTLE CHIC LOOK

Illuminate – Sweep lightest shade all over eye using wider side of applicator, from lash line to brow bone.
Blend – Apply second shade across full lid; using tapered end of brush, add shade to lower lash line for depth.
Emphasize – Sweep third shade from inner corner to middle of lid.

They did not release many shades in India as much as they did in the US. I like the packaging, quite simple and classy with a transparent cover. I feel quads are better than single eye shadows for beauties who like to spend some time with their eye make up. Needless to say, they have some gorgeous shades in those quads.

The eye shadows are easy to apply, not powdery. Pigmentation is medium but buildable quite easily. It blends easily and does not crease. They are pretty long staying. However, some of the shades are too sparkly so make sure you use the testers and swatch before buying it from the store if you are someone very particular about the shimmers/glitters in the products.

I find the price tag to be appropriate for a product of this decent quality. The product did not cause any irritation on my eye area. I could remove it easily using a good make up remover. However if you decide to skip the make up remover and simply wash it off, there might be some fine shimmers remaining on your skin.

Speaking of this particular quad, Its named A to D, A being the lightest shade i.e. on the left side and shade D is the darkest.

Shade A

This is a very light with fine peachy shimmers. I like to use it as a highlighter near the brow line.

Shade B

A perfect nude eye shadow shade with a little bit of shimmers.

Shade C

I love this lovely metallic bronze shade. This for me is the heart of this quad!

Shade D

Its the darkest shade. Basically true brown with soft golden shimmer particles.

They do have a decent staying power however, if used with a proper eye shadow base, they last really long upto 8 hours under normal temperatures. The texture is soft and velvety however I notice that we do need quite a bit before it really shows on the lids. Basically they need some proper blending work.

MBF Recommendations

I feel Copper Brown is a decent quad with lovely nude and copper-Bronze shades. These shades are very well suited for daily wear and for light make up looks. Because of the gradient of the hues, it becomes quite easy to create a graduated eye makeup look. This would be nice for a soft smokey eye makeup too. Because of the colours in this one, it would compliment almost all skin tones.
