In Detail Morphe Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches and My Experience

As usual, KathleenLights does not disappoint. This palette comes with all the elegant and wild colors you would expect from a Queen like Kathleen.

Morphe Kathleen Lights Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches Focus

1.The first shade is a white shadow that has an icy/frost finish. It is the perfect shimmer shade that you can use as a cheekbone highlight or even inner corner highlight. Perfect for a New Years or a Christmas look when you want to be extra fancy.

2.The next shade is a matte shade with a pink/white hint to it. A very creamy, satin shadow. Perfect to use as an all over base for the lid or to define your eyebrow bone.

3.Then we have the perfect orange and peach mix. While the shadow in the palette shows glitter, the glitter lover in me was disappointed to realize the glitter does not transfer to the lid when applied. I tried and tried until my little fingers almost fell off to no avail. There are plenty of other glitter shades in this palette, so I wasn’t really that upset. Especially after I tried the green… This color is perfect to use in your crease, or cut your crease.

4.Now we have this incredible gold shadow. The metallic finish is wearable and super creamy. Perfect for the lid if you are wanting some shine in your day! Bronze-ish finish, perfect for fall.

5.Speaking of fall. Goodness gracious, then we come to this brown toned reddish color. Lights called it a cranberry shade, which is true. But it has a little bit more brown. The shimmer and metallic finish makes this the perfect lid color for a smoky eye.

6.Since we are on the topic of smoky eyes. This matte brown toned black is the perfect shade. This buildable color is slightly muted, which makes it perfect for those of us that want to do smoky eyes on a Tuesday afternoon because we are feeling a little dark.

7.This shimmery shadow is the perfect mix of purple, silver, and taupe all pressed into the perfect color. Previously seen in the 35T palette from Morphe, the things you can do with this color are absolutely endless! Just like KathleenLights imagination.

8.This metallic brown shade has the perfect touch of orange along with it! A touch less than shadow number 3, but still enough to pack a punch of glorious color with the perfect amount of glitter to it. All these brown toned shades scream KathleenLights. They fit in perfectly with her classy looks.

9.The matte colors in this palette are to die for. I have been on the hunt for the perfect rose colored cranberry shadow, and this did not disappoint! It is so easy to build to make the perfect shade for your crease.

10.Now, I have said many times the colors are pigmented and easy to blend. This one is an exception. While the color is gorgeous, it takes a little work to get the pigment you want. A deep maroonish red that is perfect for fall (Can you tell I LOVE fall colors yet?), even though it is the hardest to apply it is definitely worth the work.

11.Up next we have the first of the two greens. This satin forest green is definitely remarkable. KathleenLights described it as a, “Dirty green.” She was right. There is even a hint of emerald in the shimmers. This color has incredible wearability all over the eye.

12.Now. For the color we have all been waiting for. *drum roll* This vibrant green is probably my new favorite color. I am not a green person, by any means. But when I put this on because of a personal dare to try something crazy, I fell in love. This metallic color has gold undertones in the glitter and was perfect as a lid color for my cut crease.

13.Making an appearance from the 35O palette, this warm red/brown color is another incredible matte shade. Definitely a color you need in your collection. Especially if you are a smoky eye fan. This palette seems to be perfect for that!

14.Another appearance from the 35O! A light mustard brown I was very skeptical about at first. But I am all about warm colors so of course I had to give it a shot. Blend it out with the brown and black color and it is pretty life changing.

15.The final color in this palette is the only other color that is difficult to build. Of course, there had to be a black color in the mix. Again, once you work at it, it pays off pretty nice. It’s just getting there that is the problem.

PROs of Morphe X KathleenLights Palette

  1. Super affordable!
  2. Good mix of shimmer as well as matte shades.
  3. Shadows you can wear bold or classy.
  4. That green though…

CONs of Morphe X KathleenLights Palette

  1. Although the two shades are difficult to build, that really isn’t a con in my eyes. Some artists are heavy handed. The only colors that are hard to build were darker colors. So that could kind of be a good thing in some eyes.
  2. The magnetic closure kind of makes me nervous to travel with it. I could just see the palette coming open in my purse or makeup bag and it being destroyed.

MBF Advises

  1. Firstly, always use a good shadow primer. While I have only done one look with these, I can not say anything about fallout. But a good primer is always good to use.
  2. With the bright green color, I suggest using your finger. In fact, I tried numerous different brushes, and none of them gave the same payout as using my finger.
