In Detail Natural Bath & Body French Red Clay Face Mask Review and My Experience

The product has a red clay colour. It has a very minimal soothing rose like aroma. It has a consistency like our regular clay masks. Its neither too thick, nor too thin. I apply it directly on my facial skin in a thin layer. After leaving it on for around 15 minutes, it completely dries. I wash it off using normal temperature water. It’s fairly easy to remove as compared to our regular fuller’s earth clay masks.

Effects on the skin

The french red clay face mask is really soothing on the skin. When I had this on, it gave me a mild cooling sensation for about 20 minutes which I guess is because of the sandalwood it contains. After washing it off, although its a clay mask, it does not make my skin feel too dry. I had been breaking out recently with some zits around my nose. So putting this product to test I have to say it does calm down the zits. It does not remove them completely but it helps preventing them from becoming big and prevents new zits from forming. It did add a glow to the skin however it did not last for more than 3-4 hours.

Overall I feel its a decent relaxing facial clay mask which is very good for all skin types since it does not dry out the skin. It does soothe the facial skin and cleanses it well. However my concern would be the price, I mean 450/- Rs for a 100 ml face mask which basically just soothes the skin and does not target any specific problem area does seem a bit over the line. Although I have to admit I was really impressed by their ingredient list which contains some amazing natural elements.

1. Does not target any specific problem area.

MBF Advises

1. Always moisturise your skin after using a clay mask. I know some clay masks like this one may not leave your skin dry, however they do take out the oils from skin. So moisturising the skin is very important.
2. If you want to avoid making a mess while washing the face mask, use a bath or face sponge. It removes the face mask properly without letting bits and pieces fall around and making a mess in the sink.
3. Use normal temperature water as much as possible for the skin. Neither hot nor cold water have any extra benefits.

  1. I got this in my fab bag as well. It was nice in relaxing the skin, it felt very nice and soft on the skin. No long term benefits though. i just noticed the natural ingredients by your review and now I know why it felt so good on my skin. I hope they improvise the formula, it has the potential to be such a great masque.

  2. Honestly looking at the masque tube I got tempted to reading on your full review. But to be frank I don’t think they know what a French red clay is all about.. Just know that adding beetroot powder into multani mitti does not make it red clay.. The product does not have a pinch of red clay anywhere in its entire ingredient list.. Addition of turmeric and beetroot powder just to give the product is color is non sense..

    • Hello Nui,
If you go through the ingredient list once more carefully, you will see they have mentioned Red Clay as an ingredient already. You can read that on the picture of ingredient list as well as in the list that I wrote.
Also, Turmeric and Beetroot do give colour to a product but they have some amazing benefits for the skin.

  3. Delightful pictures Astha!! 🙂 I just wanted to know if this mask has an oily texture? It may not contain oil – but is the texture powdery or creamy?

    • The texture is quite creamy. Does not feel powdery at all. It has glycerin and carrot seed oil which may be responsible for the fact that this face mask does not dry out the skin at all.
