My Experience with the Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup
This was a newly launched much hyped product from Nivea. The commercials on the television were luring enough to make me purchase this particular product. I got this with my Nivea Haul along with some other products. I had quite high hopes with this, lets see if this stood upto my expectations.
This comes in a nice sturdy tube which is enclosed in a fancy see through box packaging when you purchase it. The tube top has a flip open mechanism to save you time and energy when you want to use the product. The consistency of the product is quite thick and kind of like a toothpaste. It has small little blue granules in it, giving it a soft grainy consistency when rubbed between two fingers. Coming back to toothpaste, it smells like one too, not very strongly though. I take this in my hand and apply it evenly all over my face and neck.
I keep it on for like 4 or 5 minutes till I feel it has somewhat dried. I then like to wash it off while lightly scrubbing my face. It is moderately easy to wash off from your face. I mean if you don’t wash it off properly, it kind of leaves a dry whitish layer on your skin which I do not find pretty.
Honestly, this product failed to impress me that much. I mean it does cleanse my face and is a nice mild skin exfoliator, I am not sure what does it do special which most other masks and scrubs do not do. It gives a minty cool feeling on the face when I apply it, and that is something I really like. Other than that, I did not see it doing anything great for my skin.
Upon application as a face mask, it gives my skin a cooling sensation. When I am taking this off, it works as a mild exfoliator while I lightly rub my skin with my finger tips. It does make my face very clean and leaves a minty feeling. However, I did not see it working on my blackheads when I had them or doing anything significant for my pores on a long term basis. It did not help with any hyperpigmentation well, neither does it claim to.
Overall I feel it is a decent product. I mean it does what a regular Kaolin Clay face mask would do. The advantage here is, it comes in a tube and you just have to squeeze it out and put it on your face. In addition, it also has a mild scrubbing properties. However, it does have loads of chemicals in it if you go through the ingredient list carefully. Alcohols and parabens etc. I am not sure I would go and pick this product as my first choice. It did not break me out or anything and was gentle enough for my skin.
It does dry out the skin a little bit, so you need to moisturise your skin properly after using this. Also because of its drying nature, it is of questionable use to the dry skin beauties.
Pros of Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup
1. Comes in a nice tube form
2. Affordable face mask with kaolin clay
3. Cleans up the face very well
4. Works as a mild exfoliator
5. will be great to travel with as it is a 3 in 1 product
6. easily available
Cons of Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup
1. Does not do anything significant for the blackheads or the skin in general on a long term basis.
2. Is full of chemicals
3. Might not be suitable for dry skin beauties
4. Smells like mint + toothpaste (slightly) which is not something my nose welcomes. Smell however is matter of a personal preference, so smell it before you go ahead and buy it
