In Detail Plum Vanilla & Fig Feel The Fudge Body Butter Review, Swatches, Demo and My Experience

The body butter comes in a simple transparent tub with a white coloured screw lid on top. There is another transparent spill proof lid inside for added safety. The tub is quite sturdy, doesn’t compress easily. Hence, if you tighten the lid properly, I am sure you can travel with it as well. I appreciate the fact that Plum has included a an ingredient list. However its not in detail. They have mentioned “fragrance” as the last ingredient. I mean, I want to know what is the ingredient which is actually used to make the fragrance? Whether its synthetic musks, phthalates or any volatile organic chemical compound? I honestly wish they had mentioned every ingredient in detail. Other than that, I do not have any complains with the packaging.

The Plum body butter literally smells like warm vanilla fudge! Although I do not really notice any significant notes of fig. But the vanilla scent here is quite delicious. It almost smells like a vanilla dessert to me. 😀 It has a moderate to thick cream consistency with a velvety soft texture. The texture is absolutely non oily or greasy. It feels quite amazing to be honest specially if you have oily and greasy body moisturisers.

How I Use it

I usually use it after a shower. This body butter is such that you definitely need more amount as compared to other body moisturisers. It does take a minute of massaging before it gets absorbed in the skin. I use it on my body everyday after shower during the day. As I am working it on my skin, I love the warm vanilla aroma it fills my shower with.

Effects

The body butter makes my skin velvety soft and smooth. My skin looks hydrated and yet doesn’t look shiny or oily. Basically gives a matte finish as well as the skin looks healthy and plump. I am in love with this body butter these days and have been using it continuously since I got it. It never makes my skin feel greasy and neither causes sweating on minimal heat exposure. However, it does not have any brightening effect on the skin. Also, this does not have any SPF in it.

Overall Verdict

I feel this is an amazing body butter specially during summer season for combination, dry or normal skin beauties. It is absolutely non greasy and feels weightless on the skin. After it absorbs, the vanilla fragrance lingers around for almost a couple of hours. Skin looks nourished and healthy. However I have 2 complains with this product. First, I would very much like to know what is the “fragrance” made up of. Secondly, I wish this had some SPF in it. Other than that, this is an amazing body butter for daily use. You should definitely try it out. 🙂

CONs of Plum Vanilla & Fig Feel The Fudge Body Butter

1. No SPF.
2. Details of ingredient making up “fragrance” is not revealed.
3. I wanted to smell figs too! But I do not catch any notes of fig.

MBF Advises

1. Irrespective of your skin type, always make sure to moisturise your skin well.
2. Wear an SPF always specially if you’re heading out. This body butter is devoid of any sun protecting ingredient, therefore use your regular SPF on top of it.
3. Always keep the lid of products closed tight because these days the dry airs tend to dry out everything.
4. For best results, use this body butter immediately after shower as rightly suggested by the brand.

MBF Rating

4.5/5

(I would have rated it 5/5 if it had SPF and they had mentioned the ingredient in “fragrance”. Finally, kudos to Plum for creating cruelty free and vegan products. )

    • Hey Jasprit, the ingredients look really good in this so I think you can use this as a moisturiser for face also. But please do a patch test before using on the face. 🙂
