In Detail Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation Review, Shades, Swatches and My Experience – Shade 3.15 Warm Medium Beige

Starting of with the packaging, it comes in a decent black cardboard outer packaging. When you open it, there is a clear glass bottle inside which is lightweight and that’s what I love about the bottle. The best thing is that it comes with its own pump dispenser which dispenses the right amount of product each time. Hence, saves my time. Also, it saves the product from getting wasted. Overall the packaging is quite simple and decent nothing fancy to rave about.

They have 22 shades available in the range. Therefore, one can find their appropriate shade easily. Use the shade guide above to get an idea about your closest match.

My Experience

Now coming on to the review. Firstly let me tell you that I am NC 42 in MAC and I was matched 3.15 here. If you are reading my post for the first time, let me tell you all that I like my foundations to be a shade lighter than my skin tone as my skin tends to oxidise foundations a bit after sometime of wearing. So the same thing I addressed to the mua at the sephora counter Mumbai. Hence, she matched me to 3.15 as a shade lighter than my skin tone. Therefore, I bought it. Now I tried and tested this foundation for a month, and I realised that the shade is just not a perfect shade for me. I asked the Sephora India MUA to give me a shade lighter than my skin tone but she gave me my skin color foundation.

Now this foundation does oxidise on my combination skin and hence it makes me look more darker than my actual skin tone. I also noticed that the foundation has more of an orange color in it which is also the reason that it makes me look dark after sometime. Now I do have some acne marks and blemishes and hence, I like my foundation to be absolutely full coverage. But unfortunately this does not hide my acne marks and blemishes whatsoever. So here I consider my purchase as a total waste of money.

It does gives a very natural finish to the skin without making it look heavy or cakey. It gives me a very nice semi matte finish. It’s a good option for beauties with normal to dry skin.

Lastly coming on to the staying power, it stays on my skin for 5-6 hours after that it starts fading. But touching up with bit of compact helps to make it stay for another 1-2 hours.
