TRESemmé Botanique Detox & Restore Shampoo Review: Hey guys, I talked about the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Shampoo a while back and I really enjoyed it. Today I am going to talk about another shampoo from TRESemme’s Botanique range. Its their Detox and Restore Shampoo. Again, like the other shampoo, the formulation of this shampoo is entirely different as compared to the one available in the USA and UK markets under the same name. The one available in USA, UK has Green Tea and Ginger however, the one available here in India has Ginseng and Neem. I am going to talk about the latter one. Let’s learn more about my experience with this shampoo below.

In Detail TRESemmé Botanique Detox & Restore Shampoo Review and My Experience

The shampoo comes in a deep olive green coloured cottle with a black coloured flip open/screw top. All the details about the product are written in detail on the back label. The bottle does look sturdy however if you wish to travel with it, make sure to put it inside a leakproof bag. I always prefer to put liquids inside a leakproof bag. The shampoo comes in 3 different sizes. Hence, you can purchase the smaller variant before getting the bigger sizes.

This shampoo smells like normal tresemme shampoos. Not as amazing as the Nourish and Replenish shampoo though. When I poured it out, I realised this is a clear shampoo. I mean, I wish they had a transparent bottle so that I know what I am buying 😀 Anyways, I still used it as a clear shampoo.

I normally use a clear shampoo once a week. Because clear shampoos contain sulphates. I don’t really like sulphates because they are drying. However, they do cleanse the hair and scalp super nicely. Hence, I just use them once a week. Other times when I wash my hair, I use my regular shampoo which is sulphate free.

How I Use It

I take one and a half coin sized amount of the shampoo and work it through my wet hair. I take small amounts of water and keep adding in my hair, this creates a really nice lather. Then I gently massage the roots of my hair, work the shampoo along the length and ends gently and then wash it off with cold water. Cold water here means normal temperature water, not hot or warm.

Please remember to never rub hair in between palms while shampooing otherwise your hair will become frizzy.

Effects

The shampoo makes my hair and scalp squeaky clean. However, I absolutely do not like it because it gives me hair fall. In fact, it also dries out my hair a little bit. The first time I used this, I had like 10-12 hair strands falling out. I was scared. However, I kind of thought may be that was because of something else. Then I used it a couple of more times. To my horror, this gave me increased hair fall every time I tried it. In all, I used this 5 times and every single time this gave me hair fall. So I stopped using it.

Overall Verdict

According to my personal experience, I wouldn’t recommend this shampoo because this gives me hair fall. I am really scared of such shampoos. Hence I don’t use this anymore. If you wish to try it out, make sure to purchase the smallest variant first and then may be move on to the bigger sizes if you like it. Remember, different shampoos may work differently on different people’s hair. So its not necessary that it will give you hair fall too. I am just here my honest experience with this product. Therefore, if you really want to try this one out, make sure to get the smaller bottle first.
