Alia Bhatt’s Infinity Mangalsutra, Infinity Carat Ring, Jewellery, Lehenga, Saree, Kalira and Hair – All clear Wedding, Mehendi photos, details: The moment there’s a wedding specially a star studded wedding like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, its natural that fans and netzians expect photos and videos of the event. I mean, its the fans who make them stars (and ofcourse their own hard work, never overlook that). I feel it is natural courtesy that bollywood shares their memories of special events through social media or press releases. Specially when we talk about Alia and Ranbir, we all know they are both economically more privileged than probably some of present days royalities. Both their families are top notch in Bollywood and it is safe to say they were both born with “golden” spoons in their mouth. Therefore, it is natural that we were expecting great pomp and show at their wedding. However, the duo decided to keep the guest list short (only 28 invites were sent out), and the theme was all pastels and off white.

We at MBF decided to collect all the exciting details and photos at one place and share it with our audience. So without wasting any second, let us begin.

Alia Bhatt’s Mangalsutra – Is it Infinity or Ranbir Kapoor’s lucky number 8?

So have a look at Alia’s mangalsutra below. Tell me if its the sign of infinity or the number 8? Can you tell? Well my best guess is the sign infinity. It may be a coincidence that Ranbir Kapoor’s lucky number is 8, which of course is how the infinity symbol is written. But does anyone know for sure? We don’t know. May be there will be another episode of “Koffee with Karan” and Alia and Ranbir will tell us what exactly was it. However, knowing as much as we all know about the couple, if we presume it was the number 8, it could be expected that Ranbir should have worn something special or lucky about Alia as well. But we didn’t see anything like that. Hence, right now, we at MBF are going with the sign of infinity ∞ as our best guess ! Btw the sleek mangalsutra looks gorgeous and we are sure every jewellery store has sent this design for manufacturing as the demand is going to be huge in the coming wedding season.

Alia Bhatt’s “X” Carat Wedding Ring

Right after the wedding, Alia Bhatt was reportedly seen wearing a massive diamond (current presumption) ring. Now while some of us visually analyse and calculate the value of “X”, the other group of us are safely going to just accept the fact that “X” is a very high number and our humble faces can only dream of such a thing in real life. Let’s be honest, some of us have real responsibilities and we weren’t born in the bollywood Kapoors and Bhatts blue families. A real cool tip, invest in Moissanite if you want huge diamond rings. It looks exactly like diamond and even the best gemologist have to analyse real close if they were to tell the difference between a real diamond and Moissanite stone.

Alia Bhatt’s Jewellery

Alia Bhatt’s Wedding Jewellery

The jewellery had to be heavy. I mean come on tell me one bollywood bride who went light with the jewellery. Alia Bhatt wore Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery with bold uncut diamonds and hand strung pearls. For us, basically the jewellery was the centre of attraction, besides those dimples of course! The whole makeup was kept very neutral and natural looking.

The jewellery accentuated the whole bridal look basically. It was one of the things that made Alia stand out as an Indian bride we feel. The Jodha Akbar style full choker necklace, heavy jhumkas (earpieces), mathapatti (headband) and kade (heavy bangles).

Speaking of Ranbir Kapoor’s jewellery, it was kept classic. 7 layered pearl necklace, simple solitaire studs and the Kalangi (jewel attached to the turban). Lets all accept that he would have looked dapper even if he skipped the safa (turban) completely.

Alia Bhatt’s Mehendi function Jewellery

The mehendi function jewellery Alia wore was not super unique and yet it went with the Manish Malhotra outfit like it was made for it. The focus was supposed to be the lehenga. Here are some pictures. Notice how she completely skipped the earrings. It was just the heavy choker and the mangtika.

Alia Bhatt’s Lehenga and Saree

Alia Bhatt’s Mehendi Lehenga

So this Lehenga (skirt) Alia wore at the Mehendi Function was designed by Manish Malhotra (the designer to the stars). It is a custom Pink “Upcycled” lehenga. (Upcyled means “reused in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.”). It was a halter neck sleeveless blouse with fine embroidery paired with a rich flowing skirt with intricate and extensive craftsmanship. Apparently, the skirt alone took 3000 hours ( I don’t know why are they repeatedly saying 3000 hours, why can’t they just say 4 months or 125 days? Probably a celebrity PR thing may be? ).

The skirt had around 180 textile patches which represent different cultures of India like kashmiri, benarasi, chikankari etc. The intricate hand work was done with real gold and silver threads! We can go on and on talking about the details that were issued to the media, but we rest our case by saying that the Lehenga (as you can see the snapshots below) was really really beautiful, and even more exuberantly expensive!

Alia Bhatt’s Wedding Saree

Like countless brides from Bollywood, Bhatt too choose Sabyasachi as her wedding outfit designer. We are used to seeing lush vibrant red lehengas from him but this was the first time we saw a bollywood heroine wear a Saree at her wedding and remember, this was a punjabi wedding! A neutral ivory gold hued organza saree with floral thread embroidery. The tissue veil completed the look which is relatable since Alia is a British citizen. By the way do you know Alia’s Saree cost a whooping 50 Lakhs Rupees in Indian currency (equal to ~ £50,000). She actually had a butterfly embrodery detailing on the sleeve of her blouse, which of course was custom done for her. Another detail which not a lot of people know is that Alia had the words “the Fourteenth of April” embrodered in the dupatta of her wedding saree! How sweet!!

Alia Bhatt’s Kalira

Kalira is very specific to a punjabi wedding. Its lovely how we embrace different cultures and pick up new things, so its a common thing these days that brides wear kaliras be it a Agarwal wedding, Bihari, Bengali or a Marathi wedding. Alia and Ranbir’s was a punjabi wedding so definitely the kalira was one of the centres of attraction in the bridal trousseau. Alia again had the same infinity sign/ number 8 charm attached to the kalira. It also had birds, clouds and stars as charms attached. By the way did you know who caught the Kalira when Alia gave it away? It was none other than Ranbir’s elder cousin and bollywood’s beloved elder Kapoor sister – Karishma Kapoor. Her excitement was literally next level, see the photos below !

Alia Bhatt’s Hair

Alia probably spent more than our three month’s salary on her hair which was made to look very natural and undone. (We all girls know our love for no makeup- makeup look!) For the mehendi ceremony, her hair was done in half up pony tail like we have seen her do a lot of times. For the wedding, her hair colour was polished and looked extra vibrant tone of golden with a little bit brown. She was one of the brides to leave her hair open for the bridal look. There was a controversy which btw we completely comdemn when her hair got a little messed up in some of the photos and some netzians said some nasty things. Let’s just calm down for a second and accept that a wedding is a lifetime experience and if you are married, you know how tired you get. So let’s not be cunning aunty’s or the angry phuphas and lets be happy for the couple instead of pointing out pointless flaws.
