How to Use L’Oreal Infallible Liquid Eyeshadow Paints

Create endless looks with ease and paint it your way!

  1. Paint your base: Apply a light shade onto the lid and lightly blend the edges. The creamy base will create a longer wear and a more even surface for application.
  2. Paint it smoky: Apply a dark shade to your lid, buffing the edges out so colour is visible when the eye is open. Layer a darker shade along the lash line, softening the edges.
  3. Paint it loud: Use the applicator to paint a bold shade in an even layer over the entire lid, stopping at the crease. Or also using an eyeshadow brush, paint colour over the lid lightly for a brush stroke effect.
  4. Paint your liner: Apply along the lash line using the edge of the applicator. For a more precise or winged liner use an eyeliner brush, coating the bristles with formula from the applicator.
  5. Paint your lashes: For a subtle pop of colour brush Infallible Eye Paint over the top of your mascara, or for bold coloured lashes coat a clean mascara wand in the formula and brush through the lashes

Loreal owns some of the biggest brands in the beauty world. Whats interesting is, products from Loreal itself are sometimes more amazing than some of its premium brands’ products. This liquid eyeshadow concept by Loreal is indeed praiseworthy. These shadows come in a double ended plastic tube with screw top applicators on both sides. The shades on 2 ends of the tube are supposed to work well together for creating different kinds of eye makeup looks. The applicator in fact is classic doe foot type.

Formula, Texture, Pigmentation

The Loreal liquid eyeshadows have a very smooth as well as creamy formula. The texture in fact is a little bit on the more liquidy side. But I guess its nice because otherwise blending would have been an uphill task. I find that the shadows look more pigmented when swatches. However when I blend them, they tend to sheer out a little bit. Please note, that when you want to layer one shade on top of the other, let the first one dry out completely first.

Mint Detox 309Side 1 – Turquoise green with some shimmers. Side 2 – A matte deep mint green.
Army Camo 310Side 1 – Moss green which is slightly reflective. Side 2 – A creamy olive with a matte base.
Sunset Fire 314Side 1 – A gorgeous matte muted orange. Side 2 – A shimmery creamy orange.

Finish, Wearability, Staying Power

In all these double ended tubes, one side has a matte formula while the other side has a slightly shimmery or reflective formula. You can wear the shadows alone as well as together depending on the kind of look you’re aiming for. You need to have a few things in mind before you use this. First, blend this as soon as you apply it because once the formula becomes dry, its very difficult to blend it properly. Secondly, make sure you apply the lighter shade first, let it dry and then apply the darker shade. Thirdly, Let the previous shade dry completely before applying another shade on top. These layer beautifully once you apply them with patience. I.e. let one layer dry before layering on another. These do seem super pigmented on hand swatches however the lighter shades do tend to sheer out significantly while blending on the lids.

Once dry, these shadows absolutely do not budge or crease. They stay put looking fresh and gorgeous for upto 10 hours. Throughout the wear time, these never face or smudge. You may use the doe foot applicator to apply the shadow, however do not use it blend. I personally blend these out with my finger tips. I feel like I have more control this way.

Also, another important thing about these shadows is that, it is quite a task to take them off if you don’t use a good makeup remover. Hence, make sure you are using a good quality remover so that you don’t force and tug on your lids.

Overall Verdict

Overall I definitely feel like these liquid shadows by loreal are totally worth the price. The shade range is amazing. My favourite shades from the range are Mistress Noir, Mint Detox and Brown Sugar. I feel these 3 shades will basically work for every single skin tone. The only thing you have to be cautious about while using them is, be quick to blend them out. Once dry, these do not blend. Also, if you’re going to use a light and a dark shade; apply the light shade first, let it dry and then apply the deeper shade. The shadows also sheer out while blending, hence you can always layer them up. These shadows layer up beautifully. Therefore, if you like the colours, these shadows are totally worth the investment.

  1. I own every color of the eye shadow paints. I love the colors and textures. The only problem now is that I can’t find them anymore. I use the lavender 3-4 times a week and I’m almost out of paint. What can I do?
