Bath & Body Works Summer Boardwalk 3 Wick Candle Review: Hey guys, I am back with another BBW candle to talk about. This one is a not so mainstream or fan favourite candle as far as I know. But just because the name sounded so tempting, I was quite excited to try this out.

Now I remember caramel popcorns in theatres and whenever I hear caramel, my mind immediately travels back to those times. I am sure we all have such small things which bring back memories. So you see my purchase decision involved a tiny bit of nostalgia. Let me tell you more about my experience with this candle and how this smells and performs.

How to Use Bath & Body Works Summer Boardwalk 3 Wick Candle

Always trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting and keep debris out of wax pool. Never burn longer than 4-hour intervals. Set candle on heat-resistant surface and avoid drafts. Always burn within sight and extinguish before leaving room. Don’t burn near things that catch fire. Keep away from children and pets. Don’t extinguish with water. Always let wax harden before relighting, touching or moving.

In Detail Bath & Body Works Summer Boardwalk 3 Wick Candle Review and My Experience

The candle comes in a classic Bath and Body Works jar with a lid. The packaging is quite okay. The off white label showing a giant wheel, parachutes and golden clouds look very nice to me specially because I am a lot into neutral hues when it comes to home decor. The summery vibes look good if you live in colder climates (being very honest).

The only complain is I have however is not exactly related to the packaging per se. I have a problem with the way they package it for online orders. Here in my country, they just simple put the candle jar in a small fitting carton box and thats it. I have received broken candles at least 3 times already this year. So I really wish they could work on the outer packaging and make it more safe for online customers.

So lets talk about the most important thing when it comes to a BBW candle – The Scent! Well the scent description says that it has notes of caramel popcorn, taffy apples and salty sweet cream. It sounds delicious ladies and gents, but! OMG this smell is so STRONG.

The caramel and taffy apples kind of mix together along with some super prominent sea salt. Now this sounds kind of okay but to my nose this is not appealing at all. For me, this is kind of very strong and pungent.

I always say this out loud and clear on my blog as well as Youtube that scents and smells are a matter of strong personal preference. So I might absolutely love a scent while you may not enjoy it as much and vice versa. Therefore, please note, I try to give you a description as clearly as possible.

You have to decide at the end of the day if you love those notes or not. For me, personally, I knew I wasn’t going to love it when I read the description but then I was relating it to strong caramel notes. But the fact it, summer broadwalk has equally strong saltiness to it as well. The later is the turn off factor for me.

Other than the smell, I feel like even quality wise this candle underperformed as compared to the others from BBW. It burned kind of uneven. I noticed one of the wicks burned way faster than the other two, I don’t know why. May be this led to tunneling. I had to take a metal spatula and even it out.

I actually burn this candle in my balcony (open area) because it has a seriously strong throw and the intense smell easily envelopes an average sized room. I think this candle is good to be placed in a balcony or front yard, porch area. In a closed room, this might get overwhelming specially if you have a sensitive nose like me. Did I mention, the smell of the candle lingers way longer than average BBW candles.

Overall, if you love (absolutely, undoubtedly love) strong salted caramel smell, give this a try by purchasing it online. Otherwise, if you’re not so sure, definitely smell it in a store before making a purchase.

1. Always burn candles at a places where children cannot touch it. Children may not be drawn to the candle as such but sometimes the labels and drawings on such products might attract children.
2. Trim the wick to avoid soot splatter. You can get them very easily on amazon. I do wish BBW starts selling them since everyone who is into candles needs these basic tools.
3. Use a candle burner if you burn candles often.
4. Don’t throw away the jar. Reuse the jar as a coin jar or clip jar or any other small things jar.
