I am a known hoarder of hair products. Although I haven’t used much Biotique products, somebody suggested this Hair serum when I was suffering from hair fall. I thought, well it does look like a natural product so I gave it a shot. I know usually non medicated products cannot alter the natural hair cycle so accelerating or causing fresh hair growth was almost impossible. Still I had hopes it would somehow do something good for my damaged hair. I was quite desperate to revive my hair that time.

In Detail Biotique Bio Mountain Ebony Fresh Growth Stimulating Hair Serum Review
This product comes in a classic Biotique packaging. A transleucent white bottle with a bid green screw cap. The labels mention the basic product details. Though an ingredient list is provided, I wonder if thats all the ingredients in it. The opening at the summit is quite wide so we need to careful while pouring it out or we might end up wasting the product. Because the product does not leak out after tightly closing the cap, one can travel with it safely.
It has a very herbal smell with strong peppermint notes. I feel the smell is a little bit on the stronger side. It has a very very thin consistency, almost exactly like water. Because of its flow nature, we need to be careful while pouring it out of the bottle as mentioned above. It has a totally non greasy or non oily texture.
How I Use it
I take approximately 4-5 mL of the product and apply is on my scalp only. I never work it on the lengths of my hair. It gets absorbed pretty easily. Because this is supposed to be applied only on the scalp according to me, everyone would need more or less the same amount of product per usage. It is non oily and does not stain the sheets/pillows if you want to apply it overnight.
This product gives a soothing and cooling feel to the scalp mostly because of the peppermint. It calms my scalp if it feels itchy sometimes. Because it has a water like consistency and texture it gets absorbed easily and does not leave behind any visible residue. As per its name “Ebony” this does impart a more blackening effect to my already dark hair.
Well coming to the mudda or the topic, does it control hair fall? I have to say it did not control my hair fall. It also didn’t cause any increased hair fall. In a nutshell, as far as hair growth is considered, I basically did not see any good effects.
Although they call it a hair serum, it does not feel like one. It does not have that texture nor does it do what a hair serum is supposed to do. It does not control any frizz or smoothen out the hair. It should have rather been called some kind of a hair tonic.
Overall I have to say that this turned out to be an average hair product. It did not result in increased hair growth, I could see no additional baby hairs popping out. All it does really well is soothe your scalp. To be honest, this is mainly due to peppermint in it. Also somehow it makes my hair look more black than it already is. I have finished one bottle of it, and I don’t think I’d be repurchasing this anytime soon, unless they change the formula of course.

CONs of Biotique Bio Mountain Ebony Fresh Growth Stimulating Hair Serum
1. No effects on hair growth.
2. Does not control frizz.
3. No typical hair serum like action.
4. Why increase its price?
1. Since it is a non oily product with a light consistency, one need not wash the hair next day.
2. Beauties suffering from scalp dryness or itchiness can try this, it soothes the scalp.
3. Do not apply this product on the lengths of the hair, it would be merely product wastage.
4. Be very gentle while applying it.
5. Take a small quantity and apply carefully. Its runny consistency makes it quite tricky to apply. If you do take a lot of it and try to apply on the scalp in a single go, it might spill past the hairline.
