Hi there, today I am back with another review. This time we are talking about Colorbar Cosmetics which is a 100% Indian brand as far as I know. However the products in this brand are no where affordable. This particular brand also seldom goes on sale. Hence this is one of the more expensive brands around here. I do love some of their products. Pooja reviewed the Colorbar Luminous Rouge blushes which did seem pretty awesome! So, Let’s dive into the Colorbar Shimmer Bar Rosey Glaze Review, Swatches to know if this is worth indulging in.

How to Use Colorbar Shimmer Bar

As a blush – Sweep the Face Blender Brush through all five shades and dust lightly on cheekbones after blush. Focus on applying shimmer on the top of cheekbones.

As an eye shadow – it goes on smoothly and stays on – does not powder off into your eyes. To add a highlight to eyes, apply the lightest shade in the compact just under browbone with fingertips or the Eye Smudge Brush.

In Detail Colorbar Shimmer Bar Rosey Glaze Review, Swatches and My Experience

The shimmer bar comes in a very standard looking colorbar style packaging. Its mostly silver with a transparent lid. There is no applicator provided with the product. The back side has all details including the ingredient list mentioned. There are 5 pigment bars inside ranging from a pearly white shade to a very cool toned pink deep pink shade. All these pigments together weight 8 grams.

The first time I saw it, I honestly felt like this is the most versatile product ever. I could use it as a blush, eyeshadow, highlight and what not! However, as I have used this, I feel like may be I was wrong before.

As a Blush – It works pretty okay as a blush. I swirl my blush brush on top of all these shades to apply it. But my problem is, the consistency of the product is super chalky so a lot of it comes on to the brush. When I tap off the excess, I feel like a little powder storm happening around my palette. It gives off a very subtle cool tones pinky blush on the skin which lasts for around 3 hours on my skin without a setting spray. Because I have warm skin undertones, this is probably not my favourite blush. However if you are someone with cooler skin undertones, you can pull this off better than me.

As an Eyeshadow Palette – Again, my only problem while using this eyeshadow is the consistency of the pigments. The shades are very chalky to work with. Therefore I end up wasting more product than I use. The texture of the shades is pretty dry because of which I don’t reach out for them a lot. I did try to use them as wet eyeshadows but I felt they needed too much work.

As highlighter – This is the best use I could get out of this palette. I use the 2 lightest shades as my eye inner corner highlighter. Also, these 2 lighter shades work very good as a brow bone highlighter. Of course, remember to tap off the excess and blend well since these are pretty chalky.

Overall I feel this did not work for me for 2 reasons. One, the consistency was chalky which needs a ton of work to blend. Secondly the shades are cool toned which do not work the best for my skin. Also I feel like this is a tad bit overpriced for the quality of product which is in there. I wouldn’t be purchasing any other shade in this range.

PS. Its broken because I dropped it on the floor which can happen to the best of shadows. So its not a shortcoming with the product.

Finally, if you have used this product, please don’t forget to leave a comment below and share your experience with it. Different products behave differently on everyone so let me know if this worked for you. 🙂

MBF Advises

1. As eyeshadows, these pigments are best when you use them wet.
2. The brush picks up way lot more than needed product so always remember to tap off the excess from the brush.
3. Blend 3 times more than you blend your other pigments to get a good finish with this one.
