How to Use ColourPop Porter Super Shock Eye Shadow

For maximum coverage use the fingertip to tap shadow on the eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. Using a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip the tip of the brush into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow appear soft and diffused like a total pro! When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.

In Detail ColourPop Porter Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches and My Experience

Colourpop Eyeshadows come in a pretty little white tub packaging with a screw cap. The shade name and details are written on the bottom. This tub itself comes in a small paper box. However the paper box does not mention the shade name. Hence, one has to take out the shadow from the box to read the shade name. Also please make sure to close the lid tightly after use since colourpop eyeshadows tend to go dry if left open. Thus its never a good idea to depot colourpop eyeshadows.

Like I have mentioned the colourpop eyeshadows have the most amazing and softest formula ever. In fact, it almost feels like a hybrid between powder and mousse.

Porter is super pigmented. Hence, single swipe gives complete opaque pigmentation. I would describe the shade as a warm burgundy-cranberry shade in a pearlised finish. Pearlised finish means the shade has this slightest sheen to it but not exactly metallic neither matte. Porter has finely milled sparse golden glitters. The glitter gets distributed evenly as I apply the shadow. Therefore, it does not get accumulated or anything.

The best part is, there was absolutely nil fall out even though this has glitters in it. These glitters are so fine that they feel like nothing on the lids. The shade is very easy to blend. Its not patchy or uneven. The finish looks absolutely perfect. It stays put without fading or creasing for more than 9 hours on my oily lids which is pretty amazing!

Dupe?

Porter is comparable to MAC Heritage Rouge eyeshadow except for the fact that Heritage rouge has a more metallic finish whereas Porter has a satiny or as they call it “pearlised” finish. Personally this finish is my favourite because I am not too much of a matte eyeshadow person and I also cannot wear a super metallic eyeshadows everyday. Hence this satiny or pearlised finish is the best for everyday use. It makes a statement without looking too overboard.

Please check out the swatches of Porter below. I will be doing a makeup look using this shadow soon and updating on my youtube channel so make sure you’re subscribed. “Astha MBF” is my youtube channel name.

MBF Advises

1. Never depot colourpop eyeshadows because their formula is a hybrid formula which tends to get dry if left open. Hence always close the lid properly after use.
2. Try to use an eye primer to get true pigmentation of eyeshadows as well as make them last much longer.
3. For eyeshadows which have glitter in it, try to pat the pigment on the lids rather than strokig it on with the brush.
4. Always be careful while using glittery or shimmery shades on the eyelids.
5. Remove all the makeup properly and thoroughly before going to bed.
