ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches: Hi everyone, so this is the second shade from the Colourpop Kathleen Lights quad that I am currently working on. I already reviewed the Colourpop Porter eyeshadow from this quad. I have been playing with the shadows for 3 days now and in fact I am very impressed. Let’s get into our review for the Colourpop Weenie eyeshadow and see how it appears on swatching.

How to Use ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow

For maximum coverage use the fingertip to tap shadow on the eyelid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. Using a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip the tip of the brush into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow appear soft and diffused like a total pro! When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazing.

Price of ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow

$ 5.00 for 0.07 oz which is around 2.1 grams. Because ColourPop is an online exclusive brand, it is sold only on the colourpop’s official website. They do have international shipping facility. Also, colourpop keeps coming with amazing offers. For the first order placed at colourpop, they give you a discount code of $5.00 upon subscribing.

In Detail ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow Review, Swatches and My Experience

I always feel like the packaging of a product says a lot about the love that has gone into making it as well as the concept behind it. Hence I always like to say a few words about the packaging of products. Colourpop’s eyeshadows come in a little white jar with a see through top which has “Colourpop” written in a holographic letters. I love these cute little containers. As I have repeatedly mentioned previously, never depot the colourpop super shock shadows since the formula tends to go dry when left in the open. Hence this is why always make sure to tighten the lid properly after using it.

When I touch the shadow it feels like a mousse mixed with powder. Currently colourpop eyeshadow formulas are at the top of my list. I am a big fan of makeup forever eyeshadows as well which have an equally amazing formula if not more.

The Colourpop Eyeshadow Weenie is a very pretty rose gold with warm pinky undertones. I have to say this had an amazing pigmentation. It goes full opaque in a single swipe. It is picked up well on a brush and is easy to pat on to the eyes. I found blending this eyeshadow was pretty easy as well. However, I noticed that if I blend it a little bit its fine. But when I blend it more, it tends to sheer out a little bit. Again, you can always layer it and layers pretty well.

This is a metallic shade hence there are no noticeable glitters as such. The formula is smooth and I didn’t notice any fall outs. It goes on evenly on the eyelids and gives a beautiful colour pay off. Also, this stayed on me without creasing for around 10 hours. It did start fading slightly from the inner corners after 9 hours.

I am not surprised why Kathleen Lights repeatedly calls it her favourite eyeshadow. Because this is a versatile shade. You can wear it all over the lids or you can use it as a transition shade. I love rose gold in general and therefore this shade is now one of my all time favourite shades as well.

ColourPop Weenie Dupe?

If you have used the Huda Beauty Textured Rose Gold eye shadow palette, you will notice that this shade is pretty much a dupe of “Rose Gold” textured eyeshadow in Huda Beauty’s palette. It is comparable to Makeup Geek’s Grandstand but then Colourpop’s Amaze is a better match for grandstand. If you find any dupes or similar eyeshadows, please mention it in the comments section so that we all can share our makeup love!

I am playing around with these eyeshadows lately like I mentioned before. You will find the swatches below. For the complete look, please wait a little since I am working on it still. I will be updating my Youtube channel “Astha MBF” very soon with a look and a video review of the eyeshadows from Colourpop Kathleen Lights Where the Night Is quad.

PROs of ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow

1. Of course I love the packaging. I think its super cute and user friendly.
2. This is one of the most beautiful rose gold shades out there.
3. Gives a true metallic rose gold finish on the eyes.
4. There is no fall out as well as no creasing or fading.
5. Wear time is flawless for 9+ hours.
6. Very affordable. Beats some of the very high end eyeshadow formulas.

CONs of ColourPop Weenie Super Shock Eye Shadow

1. Colourpop is not easily available in any other country apart from USA.

MBF Advises

1. Colourpop’s Super shock eyeshadow formulas are not meant to be depotted. Hence don’t dept them or else they will dry out.
2. Use an eye primer on the lid to get true shade pay off.
3. Close the lid of colourpop eyeshadows tightly after use otherwise they might dry up and get crumbly.

MBF Rating

4.8/5

Please Note: The Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Weenie is described by Colourpop as a shade with Metallic finish. However, on the back label I can see “Pearlised” written. I did check with my friend who uses weenie and she said that her eyeshadow says “pearlised” at the back too. So, I am not sure if this is a mistake but why is a “Metallic” shadow labelled as “Pearlised”? I am not sure. (I always purchase products from Colourpop’s website directly)
