In Detail Cover FX Power Play Foundation Review, Swatches and My Experience (Shade G60 for MAC NC 42)

The foundation is in a square shaped bottle. It has a nozzle thing so you have to squeeze the product out of the bottle. The packaging is very lightweight because it’s a plastic bottle hence, it’s safe to carry around as well. One does not need to be extra cautious of product getting dropped and broken unlike glass bottles.

With a nozzle, it’s also very hygienic to use the product. With the nozzle I can control just the right amount of product needed. But I wish that it was a glass bottle rather than plastic or even if its plastic, they should have provided like a pump dispenser. It would have made the work of much more easier. But then again this is a very personal choice.

Coming on to the shades they have 40 shades in this range. Yes you read it right. They have 40 shades so one can definitely find their appropriate match in this range easily. Also I have mentioned above (from Cover FX’s website) the way to select your shade. So it can be easy for you to select whether you fall in warm, olive, cool or neautral undertones.

I was matched to shade G60 which has yellow undertones to it. The moment I apply this foundation, it brightens up my complexion. It’s just a perfect shade for me. Neither dark – neither light. Although I fall in neutral in terms of the foundation the beauty advisor initially matched me to a shade in N range. So before G60, she gave me N70 which was kind of dark for me. But later on, she showed me N60 which was way too light for my skin. So back then, I was not that convinced with the match but later the sephora manager stepped in and matched G60 which was just perfect and I ended by buying it.

The coverage of this foundation is medium to build-able coverage . I won’t say that it’s a full-full coverage foundation (in the first application) but yes definitely build-able. I have slight acne marks on my cheek area. Well this foundation does cover it pretty much completely after a little bit of work, making my skin look flawless.

Also the finish of this foundation is a demi matte finish. It gives beautiful glow on the high points.

The texture of this is neither thick nor thin it’s in between sort of a texture its blends beautifully into the skin.

This Cover FX foundation is good for normal and combination skin beauties. Beauties with oily skin needs to take a little more extra care by setting the foundation properly.

Lastly coming on to the staying power this foundation stays on for good 7-8 hours after that I need to touch up with bit of compact around my t-zone areas.

Do I Recommend Cover FX Power Play Foundation

Well it’s indeed a good foundation. But I would not like to shell 4500 again on the same foundation as I have loads of foundation in my vanity. Also, I would like to try something more affordable rather then spending on such an expensive product.
