About Dior J’Adore EDP

Dior claims that its J’Adore is the ideal bouquet – finely crafted down to the last detail, like a custom-made flower. Essence of Ylang-Ylang from the Comoros unfurls its floral-fruity notes and instills a soft exotic touch. Damascus Rose, sophisticated and exuberant, then comes to warm the senses. Last but not least, a duo of Jasmines echo one another in a perfect embrace. Jasmine Grandiflorum from Grasse, the quintessence of a noble floral, exudes its delicate sensuality, tinged with fruit and sun and works in harmony with the more carnal quality of Indian Jasmine Sambac, “flower of the gods,” with its warm facets of incredibly sensual and enveloping orange blossom.

In the words of perfumer François Demachy, “J’adore is an extraordinary fragrance because it achieves the feat of being an original signature that easily appeals.

  • Sensual without being too heavy. It is a composition that brings opposites together, that makes iconic floral notes into an alluring, unique and mysterious ensemble. J’adore invents a flower that doesn’t exist, an ideal.”
  • Being firmly floral, this perfume is heavenly for the floral lovers.

In Detail Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum Review and My Experience

J’Adore is Dior’s feminine floral with a generous and balanced bouquet, that isn’t for everyone. It is a rather rich fragrance for one, and it is priced rather high. But most perfume lovers buy this and other expensive perfumes as investments – to be dipped into for and on special occasions.

Launched in 1999, Dior’s meticulous parfumiers’ research and blending really paid off for J’Adore to still be in the Top 10 fragrances today. The bottle is exquisite, so pleasing to the eye, as if a decadent magic potion created by a deity, with it is the alluring curvy shape or its ethereal golden glow. The curves of the legendary amphora adorn a new flexible and fluid necklace, like a delicate jewel dancing around a woman’s neck, marrying all her movements. An organic wave that gives life and emphasizes, even better, its femininity.

J’Adore

Celebrating Comoros ylang-ylang, Damascena rose and Sambac jasmine, the fragrance J’adore Eau de Parfum brings together the most noble flowers of the garden of raw materials. A refined and sensual perfume , J’Adore is for the sophisticated woman who is simple and yet makes heads turn. The best thing is the essence of the perfume – that it combines classic perfumery that believed in string floral and fruity scents with modern perfumery, that is mostly about how the composition of the perfume magically alters on skin.

J’adore opens up with a fresh aroma of bergamot, transitioning into an ambiance of roses with lovely jasmine hints as it settles down. While the top fruity notes are quite strong – almost stinging the eye, wait for just over a minute after spraying the perfume on your skin – the middle floral notes will win your heart. And the trail notes are a mixture of woody with a little floral – like a pine mixed with vanilla and blueberry. Apart from these notes, I also notice peach, orange blossom, musk, amber and pale wood. The perfume is not one to be taken lightly.

Composition of Dior J’Adore EDP

Main Accords: floral, fruity, white floral, sweet, aquatic
Top Notes: citrus, mandarin orange, neroli
Middle Notes: jasmine, African orange flower, tuberose, ylang ylang, rose
Base notes: oak, vanilla, blueberry

How I Use it

Since this is a special (and expensive) perfume, I use it rather sparingly. But I normally do after applying a little unfragranced almond oil. I hold it on top of my head – about 15cms away and spray once. Then a pulse each at the back of my knees and ears. I promise, the fragrance lasts a good 24 hours!

Effects

J’Adore is feminine, classy, elegant, sophisticated in a subtle, womanly, draw your attention kind of way. Whenever I wore it, people around me commented on it, even though it is so mild and the silage is mild-to-moderate. It lasts a decent amount of time on skin and up to a day on clothes.

Overall, it isn’t really meant for really young women – perhaps those above 30 – it is a little too classy to be appreciated at that age. It isn’t energetic or active or aqua or something you wear when you are simply ‘hanging out’. You wear this to sit-down dinners and operas and black-tie parties. It’s a gorgeous feminine perfume which makes you feel elegant and classy! This product looks absolutely expensive on your vanity. Dior is just luxury! I love it!
