Hey guys, today I am here to talk about another Dove shampoo. Its the Dove Regenerative Repair Shampoo Review. This shampoo claims to contain Red Algae and Keratin nutri complex which are supposed to fortify the structure of damaged hair. Hence, basically this is meant for damaged or over processed hair. Damage may be due to excess use of hot tools, pollution etc. My hair type is dry to normal. The ends of my hair are more dry than the rest of my hair. Hence, I always try to use products which are moisturising and won’t over dry my hair. Again, because this said this was a regenerative and repair shampoo, I thought I would give this a go. Therefore, now that I have used it for 3 weeks, I am ready to share my opinion with you guys.
About Dove Regenerative Repair Shampoo
Many of us colour, straighten or blow-dry our hair to achieve the look that makes us feel good. Those processes can be damaging to hair, but don’t worry – with the right care, you can nourish even extremely damaged hair back to its strong, smooth look and feel. We’ve drawn inspiration from the regenerative powers of nature to help make bad hair days a thing of the past with Dove Advanced Hair Series REGENERATIVE REPAIR Shampoo. Red Algae have evolved over millions of years, living on rocky ocean shores, to survive the various stresses of their environment, including dehydration and large changes in temperature. The cells of red algae are rich in polysaccharides, known for their moisture retention properties and ability to help the proteins maintain their structure. This nourishing shampoo, with its unique Red Algae + Keratin Nutri Complex, helps replenish nutrients, fortify the internal structure of damaged hair and give it a smoother, stronger look and feel – as if damage never happened. In Detail Dove Regenerative Repair Shampoo Review and My Experience
The shampoo comes in a tall white and red coloured tube with a red flip open top. Although the packaging looks handy as well as pretty, I wouldn’t exactly travel with this. My previous shampoo from Dove Advanced Hair Series i.e. the Dove Rejuvenated Volume Shampoo has the same packaging however, its leaking from the side. Hence, I wouldn’t advise travelling with this. Other than that, the packaging is fine. It has a detailed list of ingredients listed at the back.
The shampoo smells exactly like typical Dove shampoos. Its floral, but I can’t exactly put a finger on a single flower it smells like. The scent isn’t too strong. It fades away after a couple of hours of washing the hair. The shampoo has a rather slightly runny consistency with a creamy texture.
How I Use it
I usually take a coin sized amount of the shampoo and work it through my wet hair. Please note that you may need different amount of shampoo depending on your hair length. The shampoo creates a rich and creamy lather. I gently massage my scalp making sure I do not keep rubbing the same area for a long time. Then I work the shampoo down my hair lengths, making sure I do not rub my hair in between my palms. Then I wash off the shampoo with normal temperature water. I usually follow it up with the matching conditioner i.e. Dove Regenerative Repair Conditioner.
Effects
The shampoo makes my hair super clean. It gets rid of all the oils and dirt from the hair. Leaves my hair feeling soft to touch, however not as much silky unless I use conditioner. Usually Dove shampoos used to give me a lot of hair fall in the past. However, the recent launches by Dove i.e. the Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo as well as this one, have not given me increased hair fall. Both these shampoos come under Dove Advanced Hair Series.
I have to mention here that if I use this shampoo and don’t follow up with a conditioner, my hair tends to feel slightly dry. Hence, if you have dry hair and you’re trying out this shampoo, please make sure to condition your hair after shampoo. I have been pairing it up with the matching conditioner.
Overall Verdict
I feel this is a decent shampoo and works well for me. My only concern is that it contains sulphates and silicones. Hence, this wouldn’t make it to my permanent cabinet. As far as it claims are concerned, I did not really notice any reparative or regenerative effect on my hair. It made my hair soft. My hair felt clean like they would after using any other normal shampoo. I did not experience increased hair fall however it may have different effects on different hair types. Also, please keep in mind, hair fall does not solely depend on a shampoo. It largely depends on your nutritional intake.

I have been using this for last 2 months but still my hair does not look like it is repaired. It’s a nice shampoo but has very high claims.
