In Detail Dove Rejuvenated Volume Shampoo Review, Swatches and My Experience

The shampoo comes in this white and purple coloured tube. In fact, its really pretty to look at. However, I must say that the quality of the packaging is not at all nice. My shampoo has been leaking from one side just after using it 4 times. I mean its messy. The leaking tube is not a problem as long as its inside my bathroom. But, I would definitely say this is not a travel friendly product. Again, I appreciate the fact that Dove has mentioned a complete ingredient list at the back side of the product.

Dove Rejuvenated Volume Shampoo Review Leaking tube

The shampoo has a typical “Dove Shampoo Smell” if you know what I mean. Its not a very strong scent, hence I don’t mind. The consistency of the shampoo is moderately thin. Its easy to work with such consistency when it comes to shampoos.

How I Use it

My hair length is 4 inches below my navel. I usually need a coin sized amount of the shampoo to work through my entire hair. Like always, I gently massage near the roots of my hair and scalp as it lathers. Oh, it creates a really nice and rich lather. After massaging my scalp for a minute or so, I gently work the shampoo on my hair lengths. After this, I wash it off with normal temperature water. I take my time washing off the shampoo because I want to make sure I get all the shampoo out of my hair and leave none of it behind.

Effects

This shampoo indeed provides volume to my hair. Instead of sitting flat on my head, I definitely notice volume and bounciness in my hair. The volume is not dramatic, it looks like it provides a natural volume to the hair. It cleans the hair squeaky clean. Hair feels soft and silky.

However when used without a conditioner, my hair does feel pretty dry. Hence, I always pair up this shampoo with the Dove Rejuvenated Volume Conditioner. Otherwise, its a very nice shampoo which stands true to its claim of providing volume to the hair.

My only concern is the fact that I experienced slight hair fall with this shampoo. Like I could notice additional 5 to 6 strands of hair while washing off the shampoo as well as 5 to 6 strands while combing (I always comb when my hair is completely dry). Dove shampoos normally tend to give me hair fall, so does this.

Overall Verdict

Overall, I really love the volume this shampoo provides my hair. However my concern is the slightly increased hair fall. I mean I don’t want volume at the cost of losing my hair, #thanksnothanks ! Dove shampoos always give me hair fall (except Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo), but I really like Dove conditioners. This did not give me as much hair fall as the other Dove shampoos but still gave me slightly increased hair fall as compared to sulphate free shampoos which I normally use. Hence, this shampoo is a pass from my side. Still, you can try using this for occasions when you really want volume in your hair which lasts for a couple of days.

3. Has sulphates in 2 forms – SLS as well as Sodium Sulphate.
4. Loaded with chemicals besides silicones & alcohol.
5. Also, the packaging is really bad quality (My shampoo tube is leaking!)

MBF Advises

1. Always follow up this shampoo with a conditioner.
2. Comb or brush your hair only after hair dries completely.
3. Do not leave a shampoo in your hair for a long time.
4. In fact, oiling your hair before shampoo is a great way to prevent shampoos from making the hair feel very dry.
5. I always advise using normal temperature water to wash your hair. Neither hot water, nor too cold water.
