In Detail Forest Essentials Amla, Honey & Mulethi Hair Cleanser Review and My Experience

The shampoo has a signature Forest Essentials packaging. It comes in a square shaped transparent bottle with a golden screw cap. It looks minimalistic and classy. The bottle is sturdy and leak proof, thus travel friendly too.

I still dislike one thing about their packaging and that is the difficulty while getting the product out. The bottle is sturdy and difficult to squeeze. A pump packaging would have been more convenient or they should consider making the bottle a tad bit squeezable.

The shampoo has a nice ayurvedic shampoo kind of fragrance. I mean the one that you get in all herbal ingredients wala shampoo. The smell of reetha dominates with  a hint of honey and amla. I like it, its not overpowering and fades away in a couple of hours.

The color of the shampoo is dark brownish and it has a medium consistency. The shampoo spreads easily and foams up well, giving a rich lather. You wont need too much of it. A coin sized amount will be fine for medium length hair. If you apply it on oiled hair, you might need some more.

I wanted a shampoo for summers that cleanses well and is not drying in nature. During summers the frequency of washing the hair increases and there is lot of sweating so I needed a no chemical formula that treats my hair well.

I felt it cleanses the scalp really well and does not dry it either. I am using the conditioner from the same range. The review will follow soon.

My hair felt quite soft and clean post application. It has reetha in place of SLES which is another great thing. It suited my dry hair well. The shampoo says it is for all hair types. I cannot say how it will fare on oily scalp though.

Overall, I liked the shampoo. It is a great cleanser for daily use but there is nothing extraordinary about it. I mean it does not target any specific problem area.

It just cleans effectively without drying and you have to burn a hole in your pocket. Give it a try only if you are looking for a daily cleanser, otherwise skip it.

MBF Advises

Do not apply too much oil to your hair strands as the scalp is the key area where the oil application is needed.

You need to use more shampoo to remove more oil and you end up drying your hair strands by loosing the natural moisture.
