Here’s when the Micellar water comes to rescue. Its one step cleansing and hydrating skin step that doesn’t take much time and effort.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Combination & Sensitive Skin Review, Demo

I was wandering around my local drug store beauty shop when I came across these big bottles of micellar waters lined up with four variations – for sensitive skin, oily and combination skin, Dry and sensitive skin, Delicate skin and eyes. I picked up the bottle for combination skin as I have oily Tzone. Lets get into details..

A little science behind Micellar water – What is Micellar Water?

Micellas are tiny molecules of cleansing oil which are suspended in water. The micellas acts as magnets to dirt and impurities, oil and attract them without damaging or drying the skin out. Micellas + water = Micellar Water.

In Detail Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Combination & Sensitive Skin Review, Demo and My Experience

Product and packaging

It comes in a tall transparent huge bottle, with clear liquid in side which almost feels like water. With a flip open cap , to be honest there is little control over the amount of product you want , you tilt the bottle on the cotton sometimes there a lot that comes out and it drips after soaking the cotton. Not a fan of the nozzle, its just too big.

It’s a huge bottle with 400ml and meant to last 200 uses. I wish they had smaller versions as they would be travel friendly.

It has a slight smell of alcohol like the nail polish remover smell but only when you take a deep waft, the smell is so light to almost none you wont notice it when using it.

I only wear makeup on the weekends, and when I do, it’s a full face. We are talking a layer of BBcream, concealer, contouring and highlighting. Blush, layers of mascara and eyeshadow. It takes me around 4 cotton rounds to remove my whole face of makeup.

How I Use it

I stack the 4 cotton rounds and squirt some Micellar water out and gently squeeze the cotton rounds making sure all the rounds are damp with it, then gently wipe down in circular motions being extra gentle near the eye area and the eyes.

You can lay the cotton pad on the eyes gently for a few seconds letting the water get soaked in the skin and wipe away. Also you don’t need different product to remove the lipstick this is a all in one makeup remover, oil based or waterproof this does not fail.

Does it Work?

Even though it takes most of the makeup off it does not do a great job with the mascara removal. I wake up most days with panda eyes, i.e stains of mascara under my eyes. Still I love this product and would go back to buy another bottle when I run out of it. I still have half of the bottle left. I like it because it leaves my skin feeling great and leaves the skin mattified as it claims.

Afterwards, I hop right into bed. Yes no need to rinse your face or use a face wash. This cleanses. removes makeup and hydrates the skin all at the same time. I skip moisturizer.

This leaves skin feeling light and fresh and does not leave the skin oily. It leaves the skin dry but not over dry.
One thing I noticed it stung very much when my lips were chapped during the winters. It does not sting eyes when removing eye makeup, I am sure I got some of it in my eyes every single time while removing mascara.

I love how they have different variations suitable for all skin type, so theres one for everybody.

MBF Advises

1. Stack up the cotton rounds according to how much makeup you have on, I need 4 for a full face of makeup,Stack up and squeeze the product instead of squeezing product onto indivisual cotton rounds, this way you don’t need a lot of product.
2. Be gentle while wiping away, don’t tug, pull, drag too hard. It may cause early wrinkling of skin
3. Keep going till you see clear cotton side with no traces of makeup left.
