This particular variant is actually not available in the USA, UK and other European countries. “Sakura White” is only available in Asia!! May be because it is quite shady when the brand claims to lighten the skin tone. I mean what age are we living in? Brands are still making a fool of us because some of us are only looking to become “white” “fair” or “lighten our skin tone”. This is the catch people, otherwise, they would have named it something else.

Oh wait, I did a little digging and guess what I find out. This one actually is available in the USA. 100% same ingredients. But guess what, it has a different name. In the USA, Garnier knew that people wouldn’t tolerate colourism. They are strongly against racism. So Garnier names their Sakura white tissue mask as – “Moisture Bomb Glow-Boosting Sheet Mask” in USA. Neat huh? You can actually goto Garnier USA’s website and compare the ingredients yourself right now!

If their marketing tactics isn’t shady here, I don’t know what is. Garnier, you really need to stop misleading young girls into believing that “white” is beautiful. Please let them be comfortable in their own skin.

In Detail Garnier Sakura White Super Hydrating Pinkish Glow Tissue Serum Mask Review and My Experience

The mask comes in the exact same packaging as the hydra bomb mask, except the colour theme. The colour theme here is light pink and white. The packet is travel friendly and you can carry it along on the go.

When you open up the packet, you will see a neatly folded mask inside. The mask itself is actually placed on a blue material. Possibly because they didn’t want the folds of the mask getting messed up. But actually, a lot of serum sticks to the blue layer which leads to so much product wastage. I wish they didn’t include the blue layer. The remaining serum in the packet could have been used later.

How I Use it

I use this mask on my freshly cleansed skin. After unfolding the mask, I adjust it on my facial contours. The mask is actually a little bigger in size specially around my mouth and nose area. But its nothing I cannot adjust. With a little bit manoeuvre, it sits quite comfortably on the skin. The mask doesn’t slide off so you can do some minor chores while its on. For the first time, I let it sit on my skin for 30 minutes and it still didn’t dry down properly. When I used a second packet, I let it sit for 45 minutes and that’s when I actually felt that the mask dried up a little (still not completely!). So although garnier directs you to keep it on for 15 minutes, you can go ahead and keep it on for longer if you wish.

Effects

With the garnier Sakura White mask, I did not notice any hydrating effect on my face. Yes my face felt nice and smooth for a while, but I did not notice any extra hydration. I mean, I could have just used my regular moisturiser and ended up with the same amount of hydration. It also didn’t actually provide any glow to the skin (forget about “pinkish glow”, there was no glow at all!). I mean, usually sheet masks give me hydration and a temporary brightening effect at least. However, this one did neither. The only positive effects were the cooling sensation on my face while it was on, and secondly how my skin felt a little tighter for a while after removing it. I mean, this actually lived up to 0% of its claims.

Overall Verdict

I am actually very disappointed with this mask. From its claims, its name to its effects, nothing impressed even tiny bit. Actually, a waste of money. I mean, I could get the same cooling sensation and tightening sensation by massaging my face with a piece of ice. I do not recommend this mask. Also, I think its absolutely ridiculous how Garnier is promoting colourism and racism with their naming and claims of this product. Brands like these are partly responsible why some young girls get bullied and trolled for having a tanned or golden complexion. I strongly stand against this.

  1. Literally none of Garnier products have never suited my combination-sensitive skin, would not even think of trying this one either! I always feel that they put way too much chemicals and artificial fragrance in their products rather than some actual beneficial ingredients for our skin…

  2. I like your reviews a lot! Exactly the point about racism is so perfectly written!
But to my disappointment, you did this one wrong. As even if the sheet mask doesn’t completely dries itself one shouldn’t keep it for more than fifteen minutes exact! Otherwise it shall cause reverse osmosis and extract the little hydration you had in your face already.
I read this in another review and have used this last night for exact fifteen minutes! And la!!! Its extremely hydrated with a certain glow on my skin. This morning while I looked into the mirror…I was happy with the results…So after reading this review I understood that it can damage your skin if used for more than 15 minutes…the said time!
Hope you’re safe in this situation! Happy blogging ❤️?
