Today on request of many of our readers I am going to review about Gerard Cosmetics SLAY ALL DAY setting spray. I got to know about this spray from instagram and facebook as many artists were slaying on it. Seeing so many posts and videos made me buy this product.

I ordered it from beauty bay.com for Rs. 1209/- for 100ml. Beauty bay is also offering mini slay all day setting spray for Rs. 917.60/- for 30mL. The setting spray comes in five colors and scents:-

3. Jasmine – Light floral fragrance.
4. Green Tea – Subtle herbal notes.
5. Lemongrass – Citrus-infused aroma.
6. Cucumber – Soothing scent.
7. Grapefruit – Sweet and tangy scent.

I wanted to order the green tea bottle but it was out of stock so ended up buying the peach bottle. The product comes in a simple bottle with a spray pump. The peach spray bottle has a very strong smell which really irritates me and because of this I use it occasionally. It is an average setting spray to make the makeup last long but not all day long.

To fix my makeup for all day long I prefer the derma fixing spray. I have tried slay all day on all types of makeup like medium coverage or full coverage but for me it works average on light to medium coverage. When applied on full coverage, it hardly holds the makeup for longer which is very disappointing.

Overall Verdict

After reading the reviews from makeup gurus, I had very high hopes from it but it was not that satisfactory. As per the claims it mattifies the skin and controls the oil produced which I feel is not 100% true.

I feel this spray works better for people having dry skin. I am planning to use my bottle as much as I can in winters only as my skin feels less oily in winters. The bottle says that it can be applied before makeup to keep the face fresh but when I tried it, it made my skin feel stretchy. My experience with slay all day is not good.

Pro Tips on Application

After completing your makeup it’s time to apply the fixing spray. Hold the bottle from an arm’s distance and the spray the liquid in “Z” motion.
