Get Instant Soft and Shiny Hair – DIY Hair Masque

Hi my lovelies!! I hope everyone is having an awesome Diwali with family and friends.

Today I thought of writing about a quick DIY which I use when I do not have a lot of time to pamper my hair and still I need to it look healthy and radiant. Well, this is festive season and I thought this is the time it will be really helpful.

Now, this mask is can be used by all hair types. Especially useful for beauties with wavy-curly hair which tends to look dry or gets frizzy, which is btw my hair type 😛 I find that this really really controls my frizz and my hair does not look dry. Especially the ends of my hair do not appear as dry.

All we are going to need is,

1. A Container to mix the ingredients

2. Honey

Preferably organic. Dabur Honey which is widely available would do just fine. I have this organic Honey jar from somewhere which I am looking forward to finish fast. I use up honey very fast. I use it for my skin, my hair and diet 😛 If you wanna know more ways in which I use honey, comment down below and let me know

Honey is a natural Humectant. It means it entraps the moisture and keeps your hair from drying out. It is a great natural antioxidant, it has antibacterial properties and it works wonders for skin. I would like to tell that, some people say that honey can lighten the colour of your hair. Now, this is true only if you use is very frequently like 2-3 times a week.

3. Olive Oil

If you don’t like olive oil, you can use coconut oil or any nut oil of your choice. Also if the smell irritates you, go ahead and add a couple of drops of your favourite essential oil, preferably rosemary 🙂

4. A shower Cap

Now that we are done with our ingredients, lets jump right into making it.

Take about 4-5 teaspoons of Honey in the bowl or whichever container you are using. If you have short hair, you can use less than that and if you have very long hair like me, then you might have to use a little more. I am using around 6-7 teaspoons.

Take equal amount of your favourite oil and pour it on top of the honey. Honey is denser that oil, so the oil is going to sit on top of honey. So take a spoon or stirrer and mix those two goodies together. If you want, you can use your hands just before applying it.

When you are ready after mixing it, I suggest go into your bathroom and preferably use a towel and put it around your shoulders because this is going to be a slightly sticky affair.

Apply this onto your hair in sections. Make sure you cover the entire length of the hair from roots to tips. Honey is great for your scalp too!  Soak your hair into it Nice and Good. I like to specially concentrate it towards the ends of my hair.

When you’re done applying it, put on a shower cap or a grocery store plastic bag, so that it doesn’t drip around.

Let it be on for around 30-35 minutes. In the meanwhile, you can also put on your favourite face mask. After this, step into your shower and wash it first with luke warm water only. Then use your favourite shampoo and conditioner. In fact, I skip conditioner sometimes when I am using this hair Masque.

You will notice, this makes your hair extremely soft and silky. Your hair will have a natural shine to it and it would be a lot easier for you to detangle your hair. The ends of your hair will look healthy and overall for me, frizz just disappears to a great extent.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. Leave your comments below and let me know if you like it.

  1. I’m not really sure how I surfed my way on to your site, but I am so glad I did. I had heard about this type of DIY conditioner years ago, but wasn’t sure how to make it. I can’t wait to try it! Thank you so much!

Do you know the recipe for the sugar and lemon hair remover?
