It is one of those oils which my mother used it on me since childhood and now I find myself reaching for it all the time. I am sure almost all of you must be aware of the enormous amazing effects of almond oil. However, I have a problem. I can only use pure sweet almond oil on my skin or else it kind of irritates my skin. I have tried out almond oil from at least 20 different brands, but I always come back to this. In Detail Hamdard Roghan Badam Shirin Sweet Almond Oil Review, Swatches and My Experience

The hamdard roghan badam shirin almond oil comes in a basic glass bottle with a yellow screw top. You might remember this from your childhood if you used it because the packaging has not changed at all over all these years. I am not a big fan of the packaging because its fragile and not travel friendly. The big mouth of the bottle does not allow control over the amount of product coming out. If you happen to leave the bottle tilted, the oil easily leaks out even though the screw top is shut. For this reason, I love transferring the oil into another leak proof plastic bottle with a controlled flow mechanism.

It smells like pure almond oil. Its nutty and rich. Because this is an oil, it obviously has an oily texture. The consistency of the oil is easy to use. Almond oil doesn’t really set even in fairly cold surroundings.

How I Use it

I use this oil on my skin as well as hair. Talking about my hair first. I use this as my regular hair oil. Been using it since I was very little as far as I can remember. I usually wash my hair every alternate day or sometimes at the gap of two days. Usually I would oil my hair in the night and let the oil work on my hair overnight. However, if I am travelling or in a hurry, I just put it 20-30 minutes before washing my hair. It does feel a little sticky but I don’t mind it looking at its amazing effects. Sometimes, I also use it on the ends on my hair as a leave in serum and it works quite well.

On my skin, I use it religiously in winter season. Now, don’t use a lot of it on the skin, I try to take a little bit and then massage it really well. When you massage it nicely, it won’t leave any sort of sticky or oily feeling behind. Apart from winters, I often use almond oil on my hands as well as elbows. In fact, hamdard almond oil claims to be safe for ingestion as well but of course in recommended amounts. To be honest, I have never tried ingesting it.

I also have been using this oil for my little infant daughter’s daily morning massage. After bathing her, I massage a little bit of oil on her and it keeps her skin soft and supple all day long. I am not giving her an oil massage at night these days because she just won’t let me. She just likes to play as long as she can with her grandma and grandpa. So I let them be as long as possible till she is sleepy.

Effects

For my hair, this is an absolute holy grail. This oil nourishes and strengthens the hair. Whenever I oil my hair with this oil, after shampoo my hair feel and look extra shiny and healthy. Even in the long run, almond oil promotes healthy hair growth and I totally approve it. Besides hair, almond oil also nourishes the scalp. Some experts claim that pure almond oil helps with dandruff troubles as well. May be that’s why I have never really had dandruff problems in my hair.

Almond oil helps heal and nourish skin like no other. One may try many different products, but for me, none work as good as almond oil. Icing on the cake, its 100% natural. I have never had any sort of bad reactions on my skin with this. Although this is an oil, surprisingly, this never breaks me out even if I use this on my face. It makes my skin super soft, supple and healthy. I love applying almond oil on my lips every now and then because it helps keep my lips looking supple. My lips look healthy in a natural way whenever I treat them with almond oil. Because this is completely natural and so effective, I use this on my baby. Her skin is always so soft and radiant with this oil. Oh, and I also use it on her hair for a little champi!

Overall Verdict

Pure almond oil is rich in omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium and phospholipids. It has all the hair benefits that you can possibly imagine. It nourishes and strengthens hair. Prevents hair loss, prevents dry/rough hair and makes hair really healthy and shiny. If these were not enough, it also promotes healthy hair growth. Almond oil has all the benefits for soft, moisturised and radiant looking skin. So I totally adore it. Why I love this particular almond oil from hamdard? Because I have been using this since I was a kid. It always works wonderfully well for me. It has been working great for my little baby as well. I have given a try to lots of different almond oil brands, but I always come back to this. It feels more natural and somehow I see better results with this.
