In Detail Himalaya Soothing Body Butter Rose for Moms Review, Swatches and My Experience

I remember when I was in my teenage, coconut oil was the savior that used to help from the dryness. A rich oil massage before the bath was a regular regime during winters to soothe from the dryness and itchiness followed by any body lotion or cream that was available. Concept of body butter was not prominent during those days.

Since I am not a big fan of coconut oil fragrance, I used to make sure that its smell goes off completely when I applied the soap on my body but during this process even the moisturisation that the oil provided used to get ripped off. Fast forward to today’s life, I start stocking up body butters as soon as November comes.

Since a single tub is never sufficient at any given point of time I stock at least 4-5 of them in different fragrances and brands and apply them based on my mood. I generally pick the thickest of the body butters for days when I am out of home and want my skin to be in good shape throughout. However, for days when I am at home and have the luxury of re application, I prefer a lighter one.

I am a big fan of wild roses, the fragrance is not over powering at all and much soothing as compared to the regular artificial Rose fragrances. Also I find that the rose fragrance lasts for a longer period of time. To be frank I picked this cream for 2 reasons, it had the rose fragrance plus it came in a lesser quantity and was priced very reasonable as compared to the other body butters in market. Also this was a brand that I hadn’t tried before and wanted to give a shot.

Though it says for moms and claims to work on the stretch marks, it can be used by any one of any age. The packaging color- green and white was in sync with other Himalaya products. The Himalaya Rose Soothing Body butter comes in a plastic tub type packaging with a screw type cap. It has a white colored stopper inside to prevent any kind of spillages during travels. Since I am the solo user of the product and usually use it after bath, the hygiene factor had never been an issue.

The body butter smells of fresh roses when sniffed. The texture if smooth, glossy and thick creamy white. It comes of easily when picked and spreads well on the skin. One can feel a bit of greasiness on application and I generally leave it on for 2-3 minutes before wearing clothes so that the entire thing gets soaked into the skin.

Subconsciously I try my best not to stain the clothes with any form of oily film. The slight greasy feeling stays on for some time at least half an hour or so before the skin starts feeling normal. For this reason, I generally don’t apply it on the palms or feet to avoid any form of slipping or dropping. I don’t mind it on the other part of the body as it gets covered by clothes and keeps my body well moisturized.

There is no itchiness or dryness after this cream is applied for easily up to 8-9 hours. I dint find it doing anything on my existing stretch marks after 2-3 weeks of usage too but I am ok with it. I found the cream pretty decent and would want to pick it again in different fragrances too. Do let me know if you have tried this cream ever.
