Himalaya has had this for a while, but recently they reformulated as well as repackaged it. Because Himalaya products have always proven to be at least nice, I thought I’d give this a try. In Detail Himalaya Strawberry Shine Lip Balm Review and My Experience

The lip balm comes in a red colour packaging. I wish they had made it transparent till the level of the bullet. However, you cannot really see the balm inside. It has all the details of the ingredients etc on the outer packaging. Overall an okay packaging.

The lip balm itself is deep red in colour to look at. It smells amazing. As expected, it has this sweet fruity smell of strawberries which almost everyone will adore. The bullet of the lip balm is quite sturdy. It almost feels waxy hard to touch.

Upon application, the lip balm gives very slight pink sheer tint to the lips. This mild tint will be hardly noticeable even if you have only slightly pigmented lips. Therefore, for practical purposes, I treat this lip balm as a transparent one.

Because of the hard wax like sturdiness of the bullet, it does not feel creamy on the lips. It delivers a thin layer of moisture when applied. Hence, it will be good for ladies who look for slightly moisturising lip balms but not very creamy ones.

Now, what I really like about this lip balm is, this works great under lipsticks. Because it applies thin and doesn’t really have any noticeable tint, it is lovely under my regular lipsticks. It makes sure that my lips do not appear dry at all.

However when applied on its own, it hardly stays for a couple of hours. I need to keep re-applying it to keep my lips moisturised. Do note that my lips get dry pretty quickly. Therefore if you’re someone who does not have problems of dry lips, you might actually like this more than I do.

Overall I want to put this lip balm under the average category. Its smells amazing however doesn’t really solve my purpose as a lip balm. I have been using this under my lipstick now. If you look at the top right of the outer packaging, you’ll notice that Himalaya donates ₹ 2.00 everytime someone buys this lip balm for corrective CLEFT lip surgery. I think this is a great way to support such a noble medical cause.
