In Detail Innisfree Red Kiwi Capsule Recipe Pack Review and My Experience

Innisfree has a lot of variants in their Capsule recipe pack range. I picked up a few. The capsule recipe masks come in a tiny tub. Simply open the top and remove the protective foil.

After use, you can close the tub again and store the remaining product for later use. All the product details are present on the back of the tub.

Its applaudable how these brands manage to put everything on the labels even though the product is very small in size. However, it just pisses me off when details such as complete ingredients list is absent on the labels – like many of our Indian brands. I strongly feel the government must pass a law to enforce this rule.

Anyways, moving on, the product itself looks like an off while colour creamy paste. It has a moderately thick consistency. There are these beads which I presume are whole real kiwi seeds. It feels super creamy to touch.

How I Use it

I apply the product on my cleansed face. Now, I don’t apply a very thick layer. Because its a cream based product, I just apply a normal thin layer. This capsule has enough product to last me for at least 3 uses. So yes, a little goes a long way. Let the mask sit for 8 to 10 minutes, then I wash it off with normal water.

Effects

The thick cream like capsule pack is very moisturising in nature. But I do not understand the concept of dispersing whole kiwi seeds in it. I mean, obviously the kiwi seeds are quite big. Therefore, naturally these can be quite rough and abrasive if you’re not careful.

The product has kiwi extracts, so not sure how putting these big whole kiwi seeds in a face product is a good idea. I strongly feel, they could have replaced the kiwi seeds with something else OR ground it a little finer so that the seeds wouldn’t have been so rough on the skin.

Other than these sparsely dispersed seeds, I quite like the effects of this pack. It leave my skin hydrated and plump. It is able to take away all the existing dryness. Because of the lovely moisturising effect, the complexion appears brighter and skin feels softer.

I feel this mask is a great option for dry, normal to dry, normal and combination skin type beauties. Ladies with oily skin may like a mattifying mask more than this hydrating one.

Overall Verdict

I really like the innisfree red kiwi capsule pack. It does what it claims – hydrates the skin and exfoliates slightly. However, you need to be careful with the abrasive kiwi seeds. Also note that the plumping effect on the skin lasts for a day at max. So while this is great for a pamper session or a pre party skin prep time, this is not something I’d include in my regular skin care routine.

PROs of Innisfree Red Kiwi Capsule Recipe Pack

  1. Compact travel friendly size.
  2. Contains enough product to last for 3 uses.
  3. Love the hydrating effect on my skin.
  4. Leaves the skin looking bright and soft to touch.
  5. I got no adverse reactions to it.
  6. Has lots of natural extracts.

CONs of Innisfree Red Kiwi Capsule Recipe Pack

  1. The natural red kiwi extract is only 1000 ppm (parts per million), which is extremely less.
  2. Innisfree says this is made of ingredients sourced from nature. But if you look at the ingredients list, there are loads of chemicals incorporated in it.
  3. Whole kiwi seeds isn’t the best option for exfoliating beads according to me.

MBF Advises

  1. The whole kiwi seeds can be rough on the skin, wouldn’t advise ladies with very sensitive skin types to go for it. Also, if you have active acne, I’d suggest not using this.
  2. If you’re concerned of the abrasive effect, don’t scrub your face with it. Just apply it, and wash it off with generous amounts of water after 10 minutes.
  3. It has excellent hydrating action, so it is great if you want to travel with it. Also, really nice for prepping the skin before makeup.
