In Detail Innisfree Rice Capsule Recipe Pack Review, swatches and My Experience

The Innisfree Rice Capsule Recipe pack comes in a brown colour tub with a pull open top. A foil protective layer ensures the product safety before first time use.

This foil again reminds you that it is an overnight sleeping pack, just in case you missed reading the instructions given on the bottom of the tub. (You need to peel up the top layer of the label to reveal the ingredients list and the directions of usage.)

The packaging is quite nice and convenient for travel. However, I wish they could make it even smaller since the actual product in fact occupies less than half of the space available in the tub.

It has a sweet rice starch like smell to it. Not very nice, nor much offending as well I guess. The consistency is slightly thin yet somewhat slimy. The texture is smooth, thankfully no rice granules here like they had put Kiwi seeds in their Red Kiwi Capsule Recipe pack.

How I Use it

After I wash my face before bed, I take this mask and apply a thin layer evenly all over my face and neck skin. Never forget to use an extra pillow cover whenever you’re using a sleeping pack of any sorts. Then I leave it on overnight. In the morning I wash it off asap!

Effects

First things first, my face felt slightly sticky and heavy all night long. I could actually feel I have a layer of product on my face which made me slightly uncomfortable. I still decided to leave it on since I really wanted to give a nice try before reviewing it.

After washing it off, my skin felt very soft and smooth. There was a little brightening effect, but I wouldn’t say it was super noticeable. I mean you can get the same brightening effect using a 15 minute face mask. Because this felt a little heavy on my skin all night long, I was a little scared that it might break me out. But thankfully it did not. It did not irritate my skin in any way.

Overall Verdict

I think this mask is quite okay for once in a while use. But I did not appreciate the heaviness like a product sitting on my face all night long although my air conditioner was running throughout the night.

An uncomfortable night sleep is the last thing a mother of a toddler would need trust me. The product in that tub would easily last for around 4 time usage.

Till now, I have used it 3 times. The last time, my sweet mother in law used it. She has dry skin unlike my combination skin. She said it gave her a bit nice hydration and made the skin soft and smooth. She too did not notice any visible brightening effect.

So I’d say, if you want to really try out a rice mask, you can go for it. However as per my experience, I did not notice any miraculous effects on my skin. I can probably get the same effects by mixing some honey and chickpea flour and leaving it on my skin for 20 minutes.

MBF Advises

  2. Do not apply a lot of it. Use a thin layer, or else it may feel heavier and it might disturb your sleep.
