Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Face Cream Review: Hi Friends, New Year is coming close and we all are in a merry mood. Colors, Coffee, chocolate and Cake is what it means to me. While there are reds and greens everywhere, I see more stores hoarding blacks, whites, grey, blue and purple outfits.

Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Face Cream Review

There are hardly any more colors. I was highly disappointed as I had all these colors already and wanted to add some bright colors to my wardrobe. Nevertheless, I am relying on my makeup these days to add a pop of color to my winter looks.

While at home or outside, hydrating my skin has been my regime as I always felt that no makeup could look good on boring, dull and unhealthy skin. Kama Ayurveda’s Eladi Hydrating Face Cream has been with me for the past 5 months now and I have used it every single day. While it felt a bit thick in summers, it is working so well in the not so cold winters that we experience in the southern part of the country.

Please read on to see, how it fared on me and it can become your favourite face cream too.

About Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Face Cream

A nourishing Ayurvedic day cream that moisturizes softens and protects for soft, smooth and clear skin. Made with a blend of pure ingredients, this formula is prescribed in the ancient Ayurvedic text of Ashtanga Hrudayam as the ideal skin treatment of herbs processed in pure Coconut Milk and Sesame Oil.

Costus and Cardamom are known for their Varneekarana properties – the ability to enhance skin texture. Costus is especially known for its soothing effect on skin. Also contains Aloe Vera, which has antiseptic properties, prevents acne, blemishes, fine lines and gives adequate sun protection.

Olive Oil derived extracts enable high skin absorption without stickiness or heaviness. Pure essential oils of Rose and Jasmine purify and nurture for naturally healthy looking skin.

In Detail Kama Ayurveda Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Face Cream Review, Swatches and My Experience

Let me start the review with the packaging. The packaging feels huge and is made of a thin but sturdy cream-colored cardboard paper with floral patterns on it. It has all the necessary details of the product including the shelf life.

The cream itself comes in a dark color glass bottle with golden color screw type lid. The packaging surely gives a rich look and looks good on the dresser. It comes with an inner white colored plastic stopper lid, which has small elevation for pull out. This inner lid keeps the product intact and prevents any kind of leakage while travelling.

However since the product comes in a glass bottle I would not carry it for travels for the fear of breakage and weight issues. There is also a small wooden spoon that comes along with the product, which has a smooth finish.

The wooden spatula is convenient and serves the hygiene purposes very well. I usually transfer the face cream into travel sized small containers using this wooden spoon while travelling.

The cream itself is white in color and smells of rose and jasmine once the lid is opened. The fragrance is prominent yet not over powering and hence feels soothing to the senses.

The roses are believed to be from Kanauj, which are supposed to be the best quality. The cream is thick and takes few seconds more than a lotion would take during application. The cream settles super well and gives a nice matte finish to the skin.

Although, it has extracts from Sesame oil and Olive oil there is no greasiness at all. Also after a couple of hours, my skin does not need any further moisturisation.

It feels slightly thicker during peak summers but it settles down well in a couple of minutes. The presence of aloe Vera in the cream provides natural sun protection, however there is no specific SPF in the cream.

Though it claims to reduce the pigmentation, I cannot comment on it, as I do not have any.

However, my skin does feel nice, soft, and well moisturized throughout the day. The cream is definitely a must try if you do not mind the price and the absence of any specific SPF.
