Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser Review: Hey guys, we are doing a skin care product today. It is a face cleanser by Kama Ayurveda, a well known Indian luxury all natural brand. To be honest, I was pretty skeptical while picking this product. Because, I love the smell of roses; however I am not fond of the smell of Jasmine. But, for some reason I went ahead and got this.

The product claims to have all natural ingredients. The smell of rose and jasmine actually comes from the rose and jasmine essential oils added in it. Let’s talk more in detail below.

In Detail Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser Review, Swatches and My Experience

The Kama Rose Jasmine face cleanser comes in an amber colour plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The packaging is nice. However, there is no lock mechanism, so you got to be careful if you wish to carry this along.

Kama has mentioned the complete ingredients list on the packaging which is super helpful. The product is vegetarian. Kama has actually increased the price tag on its products because when I purchased this, it was around 275/- but now the price has been increased to 395/-

The cleanser is transparent with almost runny consistency. It smells really fresh and floral. Mostly like rose but you can also pick up some jasmine.

How I Use it

I take a pea sized amount of the cleanser and work it on my wet face and neck. It does not really lather a lot. It creates only very little slipper-iness with mild foam that is enough for me to work on the facial skin. I massage my face with it for like 2 minutes and then wash it off with normal temperature water.

Effects

This is a really gentle face wash. On my combination skin, it works quite well. Because it contains salicylic acid, it helps control breakouts too. It makes my skin feel fresh and nice. This does not strip off the natural oils, which means it does not leave the skin feeling dry or dehydrated. Therefore, I think it will work for dry skin beauties pretty good as well.

If you do have makeup on, this won’t remove it properly. Like I mentioned, this belongs to the category of “gentle face washes”. Hence, I have been using it daily in the mornings. When I have no makeup on and there is not really any dirt or impurities on my skin. It makes my skin feel quite nice.

After using this, I use my regular toner and moisturiser.

Now let us focus on the 4 major claims of this face wash- it is hydrating, minimises fine lines, reduces skin marks and scarring. Well, according to me, this face wash does not dehydrate the skin, it does not make my skin feel dry. However, I do not see this as a hydrating product. Also, I feel the other claims might show results if one uses it for a very long time. Because on me, I did not see it reducing any blemishes.

Overall Verdict

I think this is a really good everyday face wash. It would suit all skin types. Besides all the natural extracts, do note that it contains Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (a surfactant-foaming agent), salicylic acid (ant-inflammatory & anti acne agent) and Potassium sorbate (preservative). So its not like this is completely free of all kinds of chemicals. Although I hope that the amount of these chemicals here is lesser than what we get in our regular cleansers.

I think I am enjoying using this in the morning daily. It is gentle on the skin and cleanses my face well. However, not sure if the price increase is justified here. Other than that, I do recommend this product to beauties of all skin types. Try out the smaller 50 mL size first before getting the bigger size.

  1. Informative, easy to use packaging.
  2. Gentle face wash which would suit all skin types.
  3. Does not dry out the skin.
  4. Never caused any extra breakouts.
  5. Salicylic acid might actually prevent minor breakouts.
  6. Has a nice floral smell which isn’t too overpowering.
  7. Leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh.

CONs of Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser

  1. Not completely free of chemicals like I had hoped.
  2. Not sure about its claims of combating fine lines, marks and scarring. Do let me know if you guys had any luck as far as these claims are concerned.
  3. Won’t take off makeup, not a face wash meant for heavy duty cleansing.
  4. Why the price increase I wonder!

MBF Advises

  1. If you use a cleansing device, try this face wash with that. I currently use Foreo Luna Mini 2, and this works quite well with it.
  2. Always moisturise your skin according to your skin type.
  3. Using a toner is the best thing you can do for your skin, specially if you break out frequently.
  4. Store this cleanser away from direct sunlight because the amber colour bottle somewhere gives me a hint that it might contain some light sensitive ingredients.
