Keep Cool Bamboo Toner, Serum, Lotion, Phyto Greenpair Cream Review: Hey guys, how are you doing? So I’ve been obsessed with Korean Skin care since the past couple of years. The more I explore about Korean beauty products (K Beauty) and their routine, the more it tickles my enthusiasm. If you have ever indulged in a K beauty ritual, you know that it always gives good results. Of course you need to keep practising and trying out new products in order to find out the one perfectly suitable for your skin type.
What attracted me towards Korean Skin care on the first place was the fact that it is always Ingredient focussed. Pick any K beauty product and you will see it almost always revolves around an ingredient. So it is quite easy to pick out products based on the ingredients which you feel would work for your skin.
Maccaron is a website in India which sells some of the most amazing Korean Beauty aka K beauty and skin care brands. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that every brand they have listed is an authentic Korean brand, well known in the International market. The Keep Cool Bamboo kit that I am talking about in this blog post is exclusively available at #Maccaron so totally check it out.
About Keep Cool Set
KEEP COOL provides skin care combining ideal solutions based on ‘natural ingredients’ developed by their own unique technology and Northern European style design with reasonable price for various lifestyles. Their product keeps the skin temperature cool and maintains the appropriate skin temperature to healthy skin condition. All the products completed a hypo-allergenic test.
KEEP COOL’s unique complex created by combining 3 natural antipyretic herbs (Lonicerae Flos, Scutellaria Baicalensis, Forsythia Fruit) in Korean traditional medicine that are well known as it lowers the temperature.
So I have the Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Toner and Serum Set. It comes with the Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Toner, Serum, Mini Lotion and a Sheet Mask. They also have a Keep Cool Bamboo Photo Greenpair Cream which we will talk about in details below.
Keep Cool Soothe Bamboo Toner
This comes in a nice transparent packaging with a flip open top. Lets take a look at the ingredients list – “ Bambusa Vulgaris water (85%), glycerin-26, glycerin, purified water, 1,2-hexanediol, hydroxyethyl urea, butylene glycol, sodium hyaluronate, Polyglutamic acid, Lonicera japonica Extracts, Scutellaria baicalensis extracts, Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl Extract, Prunus persicae extract, Thuja orientalis L. extract, Pinus Densiflora Extract extract, Bambusa Vulgaris extract, Sodium citrate, Citric acid, Disodium-EDTA.”
So the majority of ingredients are natural extracts. Even otherwise ingredients like Sodium hyaluronate (aka Hyaluronic acid which is one the best humectants for skin), hexanediol & hydroxyethyl urea (both good humectants) are good for hydrating the skin. Essentially, what we get is a unique concoction of goodness.
I use the toner after cleansing the skin and it feels super soothing. Because this is loaded with hydrating and calming components, its a bliss for dull, dehydrated and tired skin. The consistency of the toner is watery, so you can very easily include this in your skin care routine as an essence as well. Layer up the serum after this and you will be good to go. All in all, this is one of the best hydrating toners out there.
Keep it Cool Soothe Bamboo Serum
Lets quickly glance at the ingredients list here – “ Bambusa Vulgaris Water(66%), Water, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Cellulose Gum, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Allantoin, Polyglutamic Acid, Madecassesoside, Sodium Hyaluronate, Asiaticoside, Lonicera Japonica(Honeysuckle), Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Pinus Densiflora Leaf Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, PVM/MA Copolymer, Disodium EDTA”
If you’re someone who looks into the ingredients in skin care products, you will sure be bowled over by this. With low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and 4.5% centella asiatica extract, this easily is one of the best combination of ingredients I’ve ever come across in a serum which is easily available in India.
Besides Centella Asiatica itself, it also has Madecassesoside which is another active extract from Centella Asiatica, medically well known for its skin soothing and healing properties. Apart from these also, the ingredient list is very impressive.
I always use the Keep Cool toner in a patting motion on my face and then apply this serum. Its amazing how this feels on my skin. Its very very hydrating (I am sure you are aware of the properties of low molecular weight Hyaluronic acids). All my dry patches are gone. I can actually see that my skin tone looks more even specially around my nose and mouth area where I tend to get more blemishes and sun spots.
This serum I feel will be absolutely amazing for all skin types particularly dry skin beauties. Also, it is an excellent choice I feel If you are looking to invest in anti ageing routine as well.
Keep it Cool Soothe Bamboo Lotion
I have a very small size of this. The ingredients list – “ Bambusa Vulgaris Water(484,500ppm), Water, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Trehalose, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cynanchum Atratum Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract(220ppm), Pinus Densiflora Extract, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA” here too is quite impressive for a lotion.
The lotion has a runny consistency and light weight texture. It gets absorbed very easily after applying. Does not leave the skin feeling sticky at all. This again is very hydrating and it prevents drying of the skin. The lotion actually has hyaluronic acid in 7 different molecular sizes. This is the reason how it is able to moisturise the skin so well without making it look oily even a bit. In fact, even after sitting in an air conditioned environment for a long time, my skin looks fresh and plump when I have this lotion on. Definitely getting the bigger size next.
Keep it Cool Soothe Bamboo Mask
When it comes to sheet masks, I find them all work pretty much the same to be honest. This mask again is immensely hydrating and nourishing. I always like to use a sheet masks in the morning after washing my face. Like I will wash my face, use a toner and then a sheet mask. I keep it on for like 15-20 minutes when I check my mails and make my coffee.
Then I remove it and let the serum soak in for a while before putting on my sunscreen. This is exactly what I did with this mask. Why I really liked this one is because this has most natural ingredients and it made my skin feel really soft. Another unique thing was that the effects of this mask lasted longer than the usual sheet masks that we use.
Keep It Cool Soothe Phyto GreenPair Cream
Unexpectedly, this turned out to be one of my favourite products from Keep Cool. I am not a “Cream” person because I like to use serums and then top off with a facial oil. However, when I used this cream, I was pleasantly surprised. This has a lovely smooth texture without being oily or greasy. It gets absorbed really quickly for a cream and leaves the skin feeling super soft and hydrated.
Lets take a look at the ingredients list: “Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol , Phenyl Trimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Olivate, Shea Butter, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Pinus Densiflora Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Sorbitan Stearate , Cetyl Ethylhexanoate , Cetearyl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer,Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Disodium EDTA”
So this cream actually has “Azadirachta leaf” extract aka “Neem” Leaf extract which everyone knows has bags full of medicinal properties for skin. Besides, it also has Centella Asiatica extracts. Even otherwise, if you are into ingredients centric products, you will notice that almost all ingredients this has are amazing to the skin. This again has no harmful or controversial ingredients.
This cream has helped my skin so much. My skin tends to breakout when I use “cream” moisturisers but this Keep Cool Phyto Greenpair cream actually changed my perspective. It has helped me achieve the most soft and supple skin I have had in years. If you’re someone who has dull, dehydrated skin or even normal skin, you will fall in love 100% with this cream.
Overall View About the Keep Cool Brand
I really like the cool blue vibes of the packaging. It looks beautiful on my shelves and the design is really functional. There is literally no traces of non essential ingredients in any of the products. No perfume/fragrances, no harsh preservatives, no controversial ingredients. Just plain simple effective ingredients. Because the ingredients used in these products are mostly natural, I feel even sensitive skin beauties would love them.
My favourite products out of all definitely were the Keep Cool toner which I honestly now like to use as an essence, the serum and then of course the Phyto Greenpair cream. I have included them in my daily routine now and my skin is loving them.
I do recommend this brand totally if you’re on a look out for a clean Korean skin care brand with amazing ingredients. And remember, these have no perfumes or harsh ingredients so completely worth the money spent. Unlike most luxury brands, these do not have tiny sized bottles, they provide fairly good amount of product, to totally value for money.
