In Detail Glenmark La Shield Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 P+++ Review and My Experience

Glenmark La Shield has other variants as well but I have never tried any. I have been stuck on this product for so long and the way it suits my skin, its tried and tested and works so well for me. I never had a reason to even take a chance. They have a lesser as well as higher spf sunscreens available. The best way to determine what exactly your skin needs is to ask your dermatologist, it’s safer and effective.

The sunscreen comes in a tube with a screw cap. It’s a white colour tube with a golden cap. The tube has a very tiny hole for the product and you have to squeeze the tube to get the product. It is old school packing. The best part about this kind of packing is that its travel friendly. If closed tightly it will never leak or spill. The outer packing is rectangular cardboard packing with all the details written about the product.

One problem with this packing is the product accumulates a lot near the cap and doesn’t come out no matter how much you squeeze it, but the material used for this sunscreen can easily be cut with the scissors.

So, what I do is once I am done with the sunscreen and no matter how much I squeeze it the tube feels empty, even after that I cut the tube 2 inches above the opening of the tube and there is enough sunscreen for at least 5 uses. I did it for the first time when I was travelling and did not have an extra one, so I ended up cutting the tube and it did save the day, since then it has become a habit. It may sound weird but trust me once you see how much product is stuck inside the packing you would be surprised.

The product is gel based making it perfect for people like me who sweat a lot if they apply anything on their face. It is a great product for normal to oily skin. You need a very tiny amount of this product, take very little product apply it all over our face and neck, take more if needed. Apply this sunscreen or any sunscreen at least half an hour before going out in the sun.

It’s a gel based, water resistant, hydrating, alcohol free, oil free, dye free, non-greasy formula. Feels very light and makes you skin feel soft and gives a bit of a glow to your face. Its non-comedogenic so it will not clog your pores at all, in fact since I have started using this sunscreen, I haven’t had any blackheads at all.

I always apply this whether I am at home, going out even before I apply my makeup. I have seen the discoloration and uneven tan vanish from my face.

It is a blessing for acne prone skin, it doesn’t not irritate or aggravate them in any way, you wont even feel that you have applied this on your acnes. The texture I like that of a primer and can be used as a priming base before your makeup.

It’s great for both men and women, normal to oil skin as well as sensitive skin. Dry skin people can also try, but it is a hit or mi product for dry skin type people.

  1. Might transfer a little on your phone.

MBF Advises

  1. Start with a little quantity and take more if needed. If you take too much it’ll leave a cast on you face and then you’ll have to blot it away or else it’ll be all over your phone s screen.
  2. Apply it at least half an hour before stepping out in the sun, it needs some time to be absorbed by the skin
  3. Try getting it online, you’ll be astounded with the deals available at times. I always buy it online and if I think it won’t get cheaper than this, I buy at least 3-4 tubes of these. It is a bit on the pricier side but it is worth every penny.
