In Detail Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lip Color MP18 Plum Pick Review, Swatches and My Experience

So starting with the packaging, it comes in a classic rose gold cardboard box packaging with all the necessary details written on it. When you open it, you see a beautiful rose gold outer shell of the lipstick. The packaging of the lipstick is very slim and lightweight. Hence it’s easy to carry along with you. Also the lid is tight hence it opens and shuts with a click so no need to worry about your bag getting spoiled with the lipstick. Overall the packaging is very nice and luxurious.

I believe they have about 30-40 shades in the range. From pink, purples, reds, wine, n*des you will find them all in this range. So a big thumbs up for the wide range in shade selection. One can easily find an appropriate shade for themselves.

Coming to the review, I will be reviewing the shade plum pick which is a beautiful purple shade with a hint of pink present in it. I absolutely love the color to the bits. This is the shade that I don’t have in my collection and now thanks to lakme for getting me this one.

This lipstick is neither matte neither glossy it’s an in between kind of finish. It is very comfortable on the lips. There is no tugging or pulling on the lips what so ever. They glide very easily on the lips almost like a lip balm. The pigmentation is great as well one swipe an you get fully opaque coverage on the lips.

Well lastly let me tell you all that the lipstick does transfer slightly when you apply but after sometime it sets matte. But still the lips don’t feel dry at all (yay).

The staying power of this is great as well it stays on for good 5-6 hours. And after that it leaves a beautiful stain behind.

MBF Advises

1) Use a lips balm before applying the lipstick, if you have extremely dry lips.
2) Use a similar shade lip pencil or a n*de shade lip pencil to give shape to your lips. This will also help your lipstick last longer.
3) If you want to make your lipstick look matte, dab a tissue on top of it and then reapply the lipstick.
4) To make it look glossy apply a similar shade gloss or a transparent gloss on top of it.
