In Detail Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color Juicy Plum Review, Swatches and My Experience
After 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color, Lakmé came with yet another new lip product. This time it is Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color. With the entire matte obsession we have been seeing lately, coming out with a non-matte product is definitely bold decision.
Packaging
The product comes in a typical Lakmé Absolute lipstick packaging except this time the colour of the container is metallic gold instead of the signature metallic chrome. Shade name and expiry date is written on the bottom side of the container.
Texture
Now talking about the product, the first thing you will notice when you open the lipstick is the fragrance. When it comes to lipstickâs fragrance, itâs very important since with every breath you are going to smell it. This one has a mild creamy fragrance which goes off after sometime.
The lipstick glides on very smoothly. One swipe is enough to impart its true, intense colour on the lips. But I will suggest giving at least two swipes. This way you can ensure that the product stays for long.
I like deep shades and with enough of pinks, reds and oranges in my vanity, I chose this deep purple shade â Juicy Plum. As the name suggests it is a deep plum shade with brown undertones. It is slightly glossy on the lips and looks really good.
The product is completely light weight even after three swipes. I did not feel that I was wearing anything on my lips. It moisturises the lips to a great extend that one doesnât need a lip balm. Thanks to its main ingredient, Argan oil, after which it seeks its name.
Stay power
Frequent touch-up is not my forte. So I only prefer those lipsticks which stay on lips for a long time. This one stayed on my lips for about 5 hours surviving two cups of tea and light snacks, without budging. After which it lightened from the centre. After a full meal it was very less visible, but did not make my lips completely bare. It left a light pinkish-brownish stain on the lips. One sad part about this lipstick is that it transfers a lot, really a lot. In the first one hour, it stained everything my lips touched after which the staining reduced. I wish Lakmé works on this in its future products as it can be really embarrassing sometimes.

Will I buy Again?
I am not sure; I will play around with this product to see if I can work with the transfer-part of the lipstick. Other than that, I think I have no issues with this one. If I buy, I would like to try the Deep Brown shade from this range.

1. Blot, Blot, Blot. Please blot your lips after application or set it using some loose powder. Itâs very important if you are going out.
2. Do not use lip balm before applying this lipstick as it will make this transfer even more. This lipstick will provide enough moisturizer to your lips.

The swatch looks very different from the purple shade of the product đ In fact in all the pictures where you have used the product on the lip, it is different in each photo. Is this shade a true purple or just a berry shade?
Hi Aarti, Sorry to hear that the shade was not very similar for you in each picture. Please refer to the closeup of the lipstick for the shade and the swatch posts.
And to your last question, this is neither true purple nor a berry shade. There is a very thin line between these shades. Purple has blue undertones, plum has brown undertones while berry has red undertones. As specified in post, this one has brown undertones.

Aarti, change your computer screen settings may be because the swatches and the lip swatches look awesome to me. Its clearly the same shade. She has mentioned its a deep plum shade with brown undertones and in photos we all can see how the product looks i.e. a deep plum. There cannot be a better explanation. Honey, please clean your computer or phone screen may be.

Hey, I have extremely dry lips and it worked absolutely fine on mine. Infact this is my go to lipstick nowadays.
