I really like Lakme’s Absolute range very much they are of a really good quality. I spotted this newly launched lipstick in a store and I picked only one shade from this range called Royal Rust, to know why read on my detailed review below.

In Detail Lakme Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color Royal Rust Review, Swatches and My Experience

Lakme Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color comes packed in a matte black rectangular box with color coded bottom. It bears all the necessary information on it except ingredients. The actual lipstick case is metallic golden in color with lakme logo on it. Also, the shade name and number glued on the bottom. The lipstick looks very luxe and of a good quality. The packaging of it is same as their argan oil lipsticks which was launched few months back.

The lipstick goes down with a click so it is definitely travel friendly, it can be carried along easily in our handbags. Overall I really like its packaging its very beautiful.

This lipstick comes in total of 18 shades which include muaves, pinks, n*des, reds and rusty colors. The shade I picked is Royal Rust. The shade range of these are very much similar to their matte lipsticks range. Only the shade I am reviewing here was a little unique. That is the reason why I picked this shade.

Royal Rust is a beautiful rusty orange color which has a strong undertones of brown in it. It is definitely an everyday wear color. Therefore, will look stunning on all skin tones equally. It can be worn during daytime as well without any hesitation.

The texture of this lipstick is very smooth and creamy. It glides on my lips like butter. It did not pull or tug my lips while applying. Because it has argan oil as a primary ingredient, it takes care of the dryness. Hence, despite being a matte lipstick, it does not dry out the lips.

It is well pigmented. In fact, it covers all the pigmentation of my lips in just one swipe. It gives opaque finish in one layer. Lighter shades in this range are also good. It does not appear patchy. As it claims, it is definitely a comfortable matte lipstick and it also feels very light on lips. The lipstick sets into a complete matte finish after 5 minutes of its application. However, it does transfer.

Now lets talk about its staying power which is very important. It stayed on my lips for about 4 to 5 hours without meal. It does suffer light meals. After having my lunch it did fade from my inner lips. Hence, I needed a touch up. Bullet lipsticks do fade and transfer. Despite of being matte they cannot work like liquid lipsticks. So I don’t have any issues with its staying power.
